True. The Who is irrelevant, since losing Keith Moon and John Entwistle.

Just trying to lighten it up.

Give up on the Tigers ? NEVER. Now the current coach? Yes.

Well said people aren't giving up on the Tigers, they are done with the lousy product this guy puts out there. The biggest mistake people are making is acting like this is his first bad season, every season has been a big disappointment on some level, especially the finish last year with that talented of a team.

Boss Man, I currently donate to the TSF and hold 7 season tix, lower bowl. I'm reducing that number to 2 next year (Thinking about just a donation to TSF and not renewing season tix at all). I'm one of the sunshine pumpers on this board, but it's hard for me as a Tiger fan to endure even one more year of Pastners coaching....GO TIGERS!!!!

Amazingly, someone called an award winning columnist who is also on two of the highest rated radio shows in Memphis irrelevant.

Gotcha.

Calkins, like him or not, is not irrelevant. Some anonymous guy on a message board saying he's irrelevant is where the irony lies.

RE: What Happens When Tiger Fans Give Up ?
No question many Tiger fans have turned their backs on our team.

No new news there.

That ups a shame but in this society, understandable.

The narrative that they are turning their backs because Pastner is not a good coach is the runaway narrative that is gobbled up. He is a good coach. To date he has not been a great coach. If you feel like turning your back because he is not great yet...but has had pretty good success to date...feel free.

But at least try and understand even those who recognize we have fallen short of Sweet Sixteen or better do not necessarily agree he is a bad coach and that it is not a crazy sentiment to feel that way.

And maybe you can avoid mocking any enjoyment some try and profess, although I recognize that level of reasonableness is unlikely.

Running back way too quickly and hurting our program. Indeed. With the recognition that what you think you are doing is letting your wallets talk because that is the only way to get rid of this obvious failure. Simply disagree.

East Carolina game tonight. Too bad you will miss it. We will not. Maybe...and this is a message board indeed...later if we try and enjoy discussing this specific game it can be allowed without the assault...which is not the same thing as critiquing decisions that may be made in the game, but that does not get the high fives.

I respect everyone having their own opinion and you backing Josh is totally fine. I would ask the same as you and others, do not think less of those who simply cannot accept mediocrity and want much bigger things for our program. I can name many many things I think is wrong with his program, you can do the same on the other side so we'll agree to disagree and both remain Tiger fans!!

Tiger fans turning their back on the team? Really? No, Tiger fans who love, support and follow the Tigers, simply think the team deserves better than what they're getting under they're current coach.

Calkins was right last season (after a few blowouts) when he questioned if Josh was going to continue with the focus on the 4 Kings and he’s right this year to question the blowouts and dismal erratic play.

What I’m seeing now with Josh supporters are fans that care more about the wellbeing of the coach rather than the wellbeing of the program.

You can stop it right there.

Not only is Pastner not a good coach he is a bad coach. Bad as in Tic Price bad. Now that I think about it Tic could probably have done more with Josh’s teams.

Even his teams didn’t run the same play over and over again.

CoP - Cult of Pastner.

I want him to succeed and like the guy but the way some follow and cannot bring themselves to question anything he does is bizarre to me.

It's like they've built him up as more of an icon than a fallible human being and will defend him religiously.

It's borderline creepy.

He's an average coach and it would be good for both Pastner and the program if there was a splitting of ways in March.

“The Pied Piper of Memphis”

No doubt some of these fans would follow him into the depths of the Mighty Mississippi.

And yes, it is creepy.

At the beginning of the season I didn't see that happening. I still say odds are stacked against it and he gets another year but the odds certainly seem to be swaying the other way.

This is it. Let's distract from the facts of the article by the age-old tactic of undermining the author ... which has no bearing whatsoever on the undeniable facts presented. Cratering attendance and loss of season-ticket renewals. That is the manifestation of the problem with Pastner right now.

Hah I bet he don't even go to games. He's too busy researching Gene Bartow's record.
