Derrick Rose was cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse at least once.

Fraud is always fraud...plus Universities have their own standards/admission offices...which make investigations easy...especially if its a high profile student from your home town.

Just because one fooled the clearinghouse once doesn't make it right. (as noted by Derrick Rose case and others).

Chillax...ESPN, CBS Sports, etc...reporting on a national story that NCAA sent SMU notice of allegations...something that doesn't happen every day.

Thread titles are helpful to choose or not choose to read or even respond to said topic.

Don't like this topic...complain to SMU, ESPN, CBS Sports, etc...

Will save this post for future advice. 04-cheers

Once again it becomes USF vs UCF

This how the rest of the world sees USF and UCF

Well, NC can give a kid an A- for a 5 sentence "term paper" about Rosa Park in African American studies and get away with it (along with a bunch of other players). But God forbid if little OL' SMU or any G5 team do something like this...hang em high!

Larry Brown is doing a great job at SMU.

The real former Tar Heel that needs to be called to the carpet is JEFF LEBO. He doesn't have the b@lls to measure up to the other coaches in this league. He is in way over his head and needs to be eliminated.

In this conference, there is no excuse for the ECU Pirate program to be a dreg. They should be drawing fans and playing a good brand of hoops in that state.

What is the point of trolling one of our programs that's performing? Especially when we have Lebo to focus on.

Lebo was fired at Auburn. Let THAT sink in!

I'm so sick of hearing about ECU fan support and seeing that basketball program continue on, status quo. That should be a louder bunch.

Did Compher or Lebo steal your lunch money. For crying out loud we just beat you, and you are trying to talk trash. Kelvin Sampson got fired from Indiana for Larry Browning crap up let THAT sink in.

Dude...whats up with an ECU rant in this thread?

A basketball coach was fired from a major power football school?

That's shocking news?

That's common place at most SEC and/or some other football powered schools where basketball is just an after thought.

Auburn has fired/forced resignation from all their coaches for the past 40 plus years...from:
Sonny Smith
Tommy Joe Eagles
Cliff Ellis
Lebo
Tony Barbee

One of the best sayings any coach can say: "I get hired to get fired" and they know that...as that is what happens to most....as they know they will get paid.

As long as football power programs are still throwing good $$$ at their hoop programs (out of necessity), there will always be coaches willing to take those jobs.

Don't interrupt his latest ECU sucks, and Houston and UCF don't rant. (Only put UCF in there because he also "roots for UCF"...and Temple

We're just trying to inject some clarity into a situation that many SMU fans believe to be a non issue. SMU should have learned from past experience, they're not going to get away with improprieties under the noise of the Dallas Morning News.

I'm not relishing over all this, competetive football and basketball at SMU is good for the league, I believe DFW is the largest TV market in the AAC.

I do find it odd that SMU is suddenly receiving love from blue chip talent after 2 decades of basketball mediocrity.

just sayin'........

Some of you think by pushing SMU down your teams somehow rise. They do not. So I don't understand why you would take joy out of watching a smaller G5 programs contend with NCAA bullcrap - when it could easily be you in the line of fire next time.

UNC? Nothing. Ped St? Nothing. Lebron James can buy the entire ohio st team beats headphones?? Oh but SMU is finally mediocre at a sport and we get notice of allegations.

Are you in a Powah conference??? Nope!!!!! That's why you received notice. It's to deflect attention away from the NC's in the Powah conferences. That is all. 05-stirthepot

I don't wish any sanctions on any AAC team. I will root for my school to improve to a point where we can be at the top but not by the others stinking the joint.

I wish no ill will on SMU. I hope they beat the allegations. F$ck the NCAA, and the inbred P5 conferences.

I don't think that is/was ever the case...but it certainly seems like a defensive mechanism from fans where the NCAA is investigative possible infractions.

But I do agree with the later...its embarrassing what the NCAA has done and hasn't done to "blue chip" programs like Penn State Football and UNC Football AND Basketball.

We should be in this together - I never took joy in Memphis or UCF's issues with NCAA infractions. Especially when the outcome is so decidedly rigged in P 5 favor.

Penn St/NCAA decision actually sickens me to my core.
