Memphis MBB Meltdown
Current and former players on twitter calling the head coach a fraud.

Parents of players agreeing.

Players getting kicked off team.

It's like watching a bad accident in slow motion from a safe distance. Pass the popcorn.

I was unimpressed when they hired Pastner. I have continued to be unimpressed with his teams. He has brought in a bunch of talent during his tenure, but has not been able to get results from that talent. That guy is robbing that school to the tune of $2.65 million a year.

Recruit like Tarzan, coach like Jane.

This is not going to end well if the wheels keep coming off.

Memphis has talent, but it is turning into a free for all, not sure they can turn it around this year. Turning into an unmitigated debacle!

What a freaking mess.

Why was Memphis picked ahead of UC in the league (again?)?

Their fans usually act as though he is great and this is the year, on the AAC board.

Lots are finally coming around to what a lot of the rest of the world already knew. It's not a very well coached team. Hasn't been for a while. Got used to getting by out-athleting lesser squads, rolling the ball out, and it has caught up to them.

I have never thought Pastner is any more than a below average coach. To be fair though, Gary Parrish was tweeting today that the Iverson kid is a noted a-hole, not sure how much weight his criticisms hold. Whichever end up being the truth, he gets another year with the recruiting class he has coming in, complete with a purchased father/cousin/handler or some such arrangement.

Pastner would make a hell of an assistant recruiting specialist for alot of teams like he was at Arizona. He's still pretty damn young, he needs to learn to coach for a few years and land back on his feet

I said on the main AAC board Pastner wasn't the answer for Memphis, that he could recruit but was not a good sideline coach etc. MONTHS ago and was attacked for it by several Memphis fans. Hmmmm....

Were it only the Cal stench. It is his and the odor left behind by the WWW (World Wide Wes) alias The Money Man. Bret Bearup is large also.

Not sure about this, I think most Tiger fans have given up on this year, and a good majority on pastner as well.

RE: Memphis MBB Meltdown
I think Pastner has had his supporters but I've spent time on the Memphis board and even before this blow up there was usually a thread or two around that was about people calling for his head....

so I know some Memphis fans haven't been happy with him for a while.

Well, he sorta chooses who he wants to lead. I think sometimes the character review in his recruiting process is a bit on the thin side.

Yes this year is different.
