RE: Behind Enemy Lines
Franklin has been great for Western this year.

He also seem to combine his athletic talent with humility.

That's a terrific combination.

I was just thinking. WMU football has at least one good tradition. From Persell to Sanford to Franklin, the Broncos always seem to be able to find talented and humble running backs. I wonder how many of you remember reading the article on Sanford years ago talking about him staying in the Kalamazoo area during the summer while taking on a job at Welch's in Lawton. I don't remember much of what the article said butI know I saw a humble, team oriented person in Sanford that I didn't completely see after I read that article.

"mental gymnastics" -Calhoun on WMU offense

"I hope I get to meet him in the hole a few times." -Air Force LB Pierce on Franklin

Great quotes, great article and great perspective. Thanks for sharing.

Not that he's in their category as runners, but Chance has been a selfless leader this season.

Geez... sounds like they're both going to military prison or something. :)

It's good that they fear him. They should be afraid. Very afraid. Hopefully that opens up our passing game. I don't want to see our 2nd-half-NIU offense out there.

I think (and hope) that we surprise you guys with the effort and tenacity on both the run and pass defense to slow you down. An interesting matchup......

#23 (at the time) CSU averages now 171 ypg...we held them 106 yds
#20 (now) Boise St now 217 ypg...we held them 97 yds

I am hoping we can contain the run then make you one dimensional and have to deal with the pass. More of a focus can/could make it better for our defense. But a tough task against your team as a double-headed monster.

GO FALCONS

Don't like these Air Force fans..too respectful and logical and nice. They need a 6+1 in there so we can get fired up and angry. Actually...the scary thing about this match up is facing a team that has perfected that offense. And these fans are a nice throwback to the good ole days where people were thoughtful when they typed.

I agree with you on this and seeing his production decline because of how good Franklin is, he lead with class.

ucla, That's what you get from us old school military. We learned in the service to respect our enemy but fear no one. We never learned how to run our mouth and talk smack, that would get you killed on the battlefield.

Truth of the matter is we would rather talk football not smack.

Well....let's not go too far....if ya want smack we can give it too (haha).

If anyone wants to make it out west sometime other than the bowl to a game at USAFA you are cordially invited to THUDGATE...our tailgate that is the best tailgate west of the Mississippi. All AF fans, some grads, some not, visitors from other schools...all are welcome. This is 'not' an Academy sponsored gig...just us 'bleeding Blue Falcon Fans' that have been doing it together for a little over 10 years now and we have....ahhhh....grown!

Here's a picture of our pre-game toast before the Navy game this year where we toast those that have, are or will serve.

LOL... you miss us already? LOL.... we are going to be dance partners for the next few years. Yes we do have crazies, 6+1 is NOT one of them. Good luck against AF.

Hopefully, but not if most on your board get what they want and another conference comes calling.

Have to admit, there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of our men and women in the military.

I am just so grateful to all of them for the huge sacrifices they make so we can live the free life
that we do in America and watch such activities as Bowl Games.

Having said that....I still want the Broncos to beat Air Force. RTB

I too want to see the Broncos ground Air Force.

I think both schools should bring their sky teams and have a flight competition too. The Sky Broncos vs the Sky Falcons or whatever they call them.

oh please, a joke is a joke but this is absurd, sure, a flight demonstration from the Air Force would be cool but this would not be a fair fight.
