What a clown.
126 miles in the state of Florida is still a home game in most other fans eyes.
Prior to this year memphis was lucky to get 6K to their actual home games. LOL at any smack being talked by memphis football fans.
Nobody is talking smack. It is the fact this isn't ground breaking you sold out a bowl in the state of Florida.
Not as unheard as you might think. Usf played in this bowl and did not sell it out. You might remember it's when they wiped the floor with memphis 41-14 (just like ucf has done 9x in a row)

I think Memphis fans are pretty well aware of that ... They played USF in that game!

Even this year, in their Dream Season, they only drew 35K to their de facto championship game vs UConn. They drew just 26,000 to the Tulsa game.
Apparently Memphis fans need better directions to their off campus stadium.

I don't think anyone was saying it was groundbreaking. The thread started more as a good job ticket sales are going well so far, keep it up type thing. Not this look at us we have the biggest traveling fan base in the country.

We sold it out in a day. The game is on a Friday the day after Christmas. It is a good thing. Nobody spoke poorly of Memphis. Say good job and move on or feel free not to post.

So 60,000 students bought 6,000 tickets?

We don't claim him. His Jedi skill is antagonizing fanbases and making us look bad.

UCF Sells Out Bowl Allotment in 2 Days - Requests Bowl for More
I drive 96 miles for each of our home games.
UCF will show up. If they sold 6K tickets that quickly through the school, think about how many they also bought from cheaper outlets.
I know when we went to the Military Bowl I could buy tix from ECU for $60 or from the Military Bowl website for $20. With a family of 5, it was an easy decision ($100 vs $300 for the mathematically challenged).
I don't expect s big turnout in Birmingham after our ho-hum finish, but there will be a loud and proud group of Pirate fans there.
Kick some tail, Knights.

Nothing.
It did indeed appear that the comment you responded to was aimed at you because it came immediately after yours; but it wasn't. There are times around here that you have to walk on eggshells to keep from hurting people's feelings. There are some weird fan base dynamics at play here a good bit of the time. Keep posting, thick skin and all.

True...as most of UCF's allotment were $60 end zone seats that were gobbled up in one day...social living and other media sites had $39 sideline tix deals, that, like you, some UCF fans are buying as well.
After many of us have flown out for the Fiesta Bowl last New Year's and then, many, like myself, traveled to our next game that of course was in IRELAND....even though this game is the day after Christmas...its nice to be able to drive to a bowl game, especially this season.

When have Yall even come close to selling out your own actual home stadium? Before this year you'd be lucky to get 15K to your home games.

Memphis couldn't break 35K for their de facto championship game.
Mere miles from their campus.

Yeah. It's pretty much extortion. You pay this price or else you don't get credit for sending fans to the game. Another anti-American trend in football.

35000 and 6,000 are way different. It shouldn't even be compared. Any way congrats on selling out. I will leave this alone because this is just going to go in circles.

It will be my first game of the season. For now,
I'm stuck working at the WTC in NY counting down the days... For $125 (Ticket and hotel accomodations), i'd have to say it's a pretty good xmas gift to myself.
