You notice this new bulkshit where they charge you another 3-5¢ if you use a card?

They never advertise the premium price here anymore. The 3 numbers on the signs used to represent regular, mid, and premium. Now it is regular cash, regular credit, and diesel. I never know what the price is going to be until I get to the pump. The cheapest regular station can also be the most expensive premium.

Damn, you need one of these... They give a setting to use 87 octane in a 93 octane motor. I have a Hemi and it gets 87 oct.

I've noticed it at our small rural stores. One of them won't even take a credit card anymore. But those stores charge about $2.65 for regular which is outrageous compared to $2.35 in town. At Walmart, I can use my card and get it 5 more cents off per gallon.

That's a new trend I've noticed here, cash only.

I never carry much cash on me; I lose it. I literally fill up at one place only.

MAPCO. F-ing MAPCO is awesome.

RE: $2 gas is here!
We use either Kroger or Costco. Kroger more often as we get "fuel points" mainly through prescription refills. Paid 2.14 just last night (.30 off for points). nice being able to fill up for around 30 bucks instead of 50-60.

RE: $2 gas is here!
The last time I remember filling up for under a $1 was on an epic, last second two day run from NIU in DeKalb, Illinois to Panama City Beach, Florida back in 1997 to meet some girls from Ole Miss for Spring Break.... Filled up somewhere in Alabama for like $.98.

(It's strange, the things people remember. We remembering this probably has a lot to do with those Ole Miss chicks, to be honest......)

Seriously? Does that plug into the OBD II diagnostic port?

RE: $2 gas is here!
You can find a tuner for just about any vehicle.

The only measure of caution id suggest is if your vehicle is supercharged or turbocharged. You can't usually alter the fuel type or you'll damage the engine.

I saw premium for over $5 once in DC (although it was at a gas station on the Rock Creek Parkway that was always a solid 40-50 cents higher than other stations in the area).

See, that's how it is in the small towns here, or on the backroads. There is a brand new Chevron on the outskirts of Bossier City and it runs $2.65 there. Drives me crazy, and diesel is about $3.70 there.

Actually they call it a "cash bonus" now.. If you pay with cash, they give you a 3 to 5 cent/gallon "discount".

I remember seeing it for ages, particularly in service stations with a full garage.

Yessir! I still have mine that fits a '99 to '09 GM V8, but I don't have any GM car anymore. You can set it for towing, high performance, low grade gasoline, etc etc. It's sitting in it's box underneath the back seat of my Ram. If you have a vehicle in those specs, you can have it. I have no use for it anymore.

RE: $2 gas is here!
This is the one I have. I let my dad have it for his 2009 Sierra 2500HD. Your engine will shift like a sports car, and he'd set it for towing when he hooked up his gooseneck. He just got a 2015 HD and it doesn't fit so I got it back.

I'm pretty sure there is a tuner out there for the 3800 Series V6 your Buick probably has.

Go to that website I posted, see if your vehicle fits the 2482 or the 2481, if so, I'll ship this thing off to you. You can message me on FB with an address to send it to. If it fits, Merry Christmas to you from LSU04_08 04-cheers

There is a chance since Buick is a GM product.

The trick is the engine and transmission. The PCM and transmission parameters are different, even across different years with the same hardware.

Yeah I agree, that site I posted is directly from Flashpaq so he can put his info in there to see if it fits. The V6 might be the key component.

There are several companies that will reprogram the tuner itself.

The tuner is useful though just to have because you can still read DTCs like an OBD-II reader.

RE: $2 gas is here!
You can do some research and some folks will do a custom tune. That will probably run $500-700 though.
