How the hell does a Ray Guy semi finalist not be named all MAC player? WTF

The only other issue I have is maybe Roger Lewis over DaRon.

DaRon has more YPC, is a better blocker, and I believe has as many TDs

Stingily 3rd team really? Extra motivation for him on Friday. D Brown on the second team? hmmm maybe but he deserved at least consideration for 1st team. and believe it or not Drew Hare deserved legit consideration for the 3rd team. Maybe the lack of recognition reiterates what a good team effort this has been.

Initial reactions to NIU listings:

-Ness made 1st team?? They also have 2 centers on the 1st team with him and Mancz.
-No offense to Meehan, Logan, Boomer, Durante, and Ford, but the best player on defense this year has been Rock, no question.
-How the hell is Wedel not on here as a punter?

Toledo O-Lineman Greg Mancz won the Vern Smith Award. First reaction, wow. Second reaction, okay, I understand it, he's the best lineman in the conference and probably the highest draft pick next year.

It's really not if you take a step back to think about it. There were no dominant players in the conference this year and he's without a doubt the best lineman and probably the best pro prosect in the conference this year.

It's that kind of year. There were no dominant players, especially QBs, in the conference this year. This also keeps up the tradition that it doesn't go to freshmen.

Franklin should have got it. I would have given it to Hare before giving it to an offensive lineman who didn't win his division or beat a BCS team.

I'm a little surprised that Hare was left off every All MAC team.

Only 2 of our guys on this list will return next year...yet our expectations will be higher than this year. This has been a true team effort all year with not one guy being the guy.

and we get TLL back next year don't forget. We will have an experienced QB, fast and young WR's and a newer, possibly stronger OL. Our LB's really improved this year, as well as my biggest surprise was the improving play of our young D lineman. Future is bright.

If Mancz still played left tackle and gave up no sacks and less than 5 penalties (which he may have done) I could see it, but not at center.

Plus, that line gave up more sacks than NIU.

I don't even think Joe Staley won Vern Smith and everyone knew he was a 1st round pick.

Believe it or not I actually considered this a rebuilding year, and we still made it to the MACC. The next few years look much brighter for us.
