well I'm assuming that if we got denied, the next team would as well. But let's say hypothetically we were allowed to compete in a bowl, and then we were on the receiving side of that 2 years later with a transitional conf champ, I think most of our fans would be ok with it.
I think most of our fans would be more concerned about being 6-6 than going to a bowl game.
this.
I'm pretty sure our fans would feel we didn't deserve a bowl game if we go 6-6, not worrying about who else might get an invite.
What are you guys going to do when you have a bad year?
we've had about, 4 of those in the last 30 years... our fan base will flip out, and then we will rebound like we always do.

and should I apologize for our fan base not taking too kindly to losing, or should we just sit back and think "well, we're in the sun belt now, we should get used to mediocrity"?

I didn't really have a point, just wanted to post some concrete, factual information to this discussion that is mainly based on trolling, reverse-trolling, butthurt, anti-butthurt, jealousy, arrogance, etc.

Any Georgia Southern fans replying to this nonsense should just stop and it would solve the problem. The other posters aren't going to stop poking jabs at us, so just quit responding to them. The pissing matches on here are getting old.

Been there....
Sat down in the stands and told jokes to keep from crying....
Oh wait, I forgot, we suspended football in 2006. Nothing happened.

Bowl Info: Georgia Southern Appeal to be voted on tonight

Seriously though, I don't know what you expect to see, or want to see, other than fans supporting the actions of the school's AD on the matter. Fans can't really do anything anyway much. I've tried to call in to a few radio shows to ask about it but never got through, wrote into one asking them to talk about it but unless they did while I wasn't listening, it was never discussed. Anyway...
Come on, you and I both know that posts on a message board are merely a way to avoid work, not trying to accomplish anything! (at least that's what I'm doing)
No, I'd be curious to see if the petitions are continued, if the letters to the NCAA are sustained, etc.
My work productivity is inversely proportional to the level of interest I have on message board topics, that's for sure...at least lately anyway lol.
I'll be curious to see how it goes as well, but I do really hope he follows through with continuing to fight the rule in an appropriate capacity if the appeal isn't granted. We will see I guess. Go Eagles!

Honestly when you are responding to someone that has more posts taking shots at your school than talking about their own you are just wasting your time. If that does not scream insecure and obsessed I don't know what does.
I just don't get why anyone would not want their conferences champ not in a bowl over a mediocre team that is more likely to lose. Last I checked this conference needs OOC wins more than any other in the country.
Oh well if we make it we make it if we don't we don't, adding to the trophy case, polishing rings and hanging yet another banner will just have to get us through until next year. Honestly, if it came down to a bowl trophy and a 6-6 record VS what we did I would take what we did all day anyway.
Good luck to all in their bowl games.

looks like it worked fine for me. Rice was suspended after telling RG exactly what happened. RG suspended RR, then once there was more backlash, suspended him again. A 3rd party investigated and found that the NFL knew exactly what happened.
Now whether or not a team picks him up is another story, but the appeal was the correct decision in that case.

So, you're appeal is going to be denied, and then two days before the New Orleans Bowl an Independent arbitrator is going to declare you eligible?
