I wonder if all the posters who said, "I agree it's a stupid rule, but you have to pay your dues" are going to fight it with us when it doesn't directly effect their own bowl circumstances? Somehow I doubt it.
You'll have to forgive me but WE are NOT the only selfish party in this scenario. There is a reason that the SBC teams who are NOT bowl eligible are significantly less vocal about this situation.
GSU fans are just sitting back enjoying the hell out of watching the GaSots make arse-hats of themselves with zero help from us. It is quite a show!!!

Then I guess we'll see after bowl season if you truly want it changed for the greater good, or if it was just for Georgia Southern.
Again, I'm not talking about the AD... That's just him doing what he should: sticking up for his team and his school.

if hypothetically, Liberty or EKU were going to be in the SB next year, and went 8-0 and won conference outright, and we were sitting at 6-6 overall, I would be 100% ok with them getting a bowl waiver and getting in over us.

So you are saying that you want Southern fans to continue to start threads, showing our support of a rule change either way after the season/decision is over? Lol.
Seriously though, I don't know what you expect to see, or want to see, other than fans supporting the actions of the school's AD on the matter. Fans can't really do anything anyway much. I've tried to call in to a few radio shows to ask about it but never got through, wrote into one asking them to talk about it but unless they did while I wasn't listening, it was never discussed. Anyway...

you maybe.. but the rest of GS faithful wouldn't be ok with it. especially considering that you wont be bowling this year because of the rule...
UTSA got left out last year even though they were more than deserving. I don't see any of those guys going to bat for you right now and they hate us.

what? Id GS had a mediocre season and was 6-6 overall, and a transitional team ran the table in the conference, I would have no problem with a team that proved it on the field getting into a bowl over us. Don't forget we just came from a playoff system where the best team advances, not just whichever team might bring more fans.

purely in the context of the waiver. If it were approved (which isn't likely) there would have to be some justification over who did or didn't get an invite. Seems like 7 losses to me (despite that 7th loss probably being a conf. championship game) is a lot of losses for post season play. Just an opinion.

well I'm assuming that if we got denied, the next team would as well. But let's say hypothetically we were allowed to compete in a bowl, and then we were on the receiving side of that 2 years later with a transitional conf champ, I think most of our fans would be ok with it.

and you did the impossible by beating UL and Ark State
that right there should get you into a bowl, even if those were your only 2 wins on the season.

I think most of our fans would be more concerned about being 6-6 than going to a bowl game.

I'm pretty sure our fans would feel we didn't deserve a bowl game if we go 6-6, not worrying about who else might get an invite.

At 9-3 we are tied for the 18th best record in the country. A 6-6 team is tied for 67th.

Come on, you and I both know that posts on a message board are merely a way to avoid work, not trying to accomplish anything! (at least that's what I'm doing)
No, I'd be curious to see if the petitions are continued, if the letters to the NCAA are sustained, etc.

some 7-5 teams
Texas State
West Virginia
Iowa Hawkeyes
Stanford
Texas A&M
Boston College
Notre Dame
One of these things is not like the others.

Yeah, Notre Dame is a private institution.
