if UL was in our shoes, would you want your AD to try and go down the same road to possibly get into a bowl game and increase exposure for your school?

Not if we were transitional and 5 days before bids go out.

Be a considerate Athletic Dept and work with a competent conference commisioner and file it once you hit 7 wins.

Not so hard to be a good conference mate ... unless you live in the cray world of the good ole Fun Belt Conference.

It's embarrasing!

so you would be happy with a complacent administration?

Seems to be what he's saying. Most on here have said their administrations would do the same if they were in the same situation but because we are "annoying" as some have said, it's detrimental to the conference. I don't know about you guys but it sounds like you just hate us for being annoying. I don't mind being hated but don't expect any sympathy from us if we happen to knock one of you out.

Trust me, no one would expect sympathy from GS. We would probably expect 15-20 threads about your bowl invite.

RE: Bowl Info: Georgia Southern Appeal to be voted on tonight
Actually Benson has said he does not support Ga. Southern getting a waiver if it knocks another eligible Belt team out of a bowl. So I don't know how it can be said he is driving this appeal process. My position is the same as Benson's right now.

I am ready for this merry-go-round to end. I would be shocked if the NCAA reverses its initial decision and decides to allow Ga. Southern to be bowling. I do understand the frustration of the other Belt eligible teams right now too.

with that, GS fans need to understand that the rest of us are on pins and needles waiting for bowl announcements. Anything delaying that is going to be frustrating as hell for us.

Man, you gotta put the coffee down. The hard work is done (and I say hard work like you and I, as fans have done anything difficult), and now it's out of our hands.

The chips will fall where they may. Getting antsy over it won't help us out, it will only age you before your time (you'll end up like YouCanUseAMint).

are you kidding me SBC? NO and Camellia have their games in 3 weeks!

Lame - great to have Ga Southern aboard.

I am fortunate enough to have booked my hotel room and sent in my NO Bowl order form already. We know we are going to play a MWC team in the NO Bowl.

All Georgia South and Krazy Karl are doing is hurting the attendance and plans for other deserving member schools. If this drags out beyond Thursday, then shame on Ga South and Kray Karl.

Very Mickey Mouse - ish, but par for the course for the SBC.

Together We Rise ..... not so much .... yuck.....

Dude, enjoy your bowl tickets because the appeal will fail. There is no deadline because they have already ruled once on this matter and they are not going to change their minds. There are too many bowl teams eligible right now and NCAA is not going to piss off other conferences for Georgia Southern.

Then Benson should push against them getting the appeal. Because if they are eligible, they will knock someone out of a bowl.

This is exactly right - this is what a leader would do.

You can encourage a member to drop an appeal and explain how it would be the right thing to do ... or one could just keep fighting and piss off other conference members.

Benson did do that. He already said he was against GS getting a waiver. What else do you want him to do?

Are we certain how much of this is actually "fighting to get into a bowl"?

Or, given the odds,
is it really just a ceremonial gesture made for the Eagle faithful?

either way, would you want your AD doing the same thing given you were in the exact situation?

Look this is a different situation, but Scott Farmer (GaSo Alumn) was the head of the softball selection committee one year and the Cajuns were 54-6 or something like that and had the #1 OOC strength of schedule, the #1 OOC RPI and 4th in total RPI and we were seeded 16th. So no we do not expect our AD to fight for anything in order to help our program.

If I were Coach Fritz, I'd use this time and go into bowl prep and then if it doesn't work out he gets some extra time with the team and then hit the recruiting full speed (and full staff) as Sun Belt Champions. Use the advantages you have.

Been looking for the last 30 minutes or so. Haven't found anything on the interwebs yet. They may have closed up shop for the night.

Sucks. They should have announced it tonight so they're not scrambling tomorrow to get invites out.

NCAA rules require farmer to excuse himself from the room during any discussion of his school. He's not allowed to have any say
