Our Scout guy is claiming that he is hearing that Georgia Southern's appeal was just denied.

Fully expected that. If they gave Ga. Southern a break there would have been howling against that decision.

Mostly from ODU, UTSA, and App State. You really cant certify one without certifying them all, and creating a real mess.

If anyone ever had a great reason to get a waiver, it's Georgia Southern. Enjoy your rings though, those are even harder to come by.

I understand your thought on that given the results of the season, but we never had a real chance w/ the whole waiver process anyways.

Even though he is now retired, I'd be willing to bet Dennis Poppe drove back to Indianapolis HQ's just to make sure it would be denied

Didn't take long for Georgia Southern to cement it's place as the most exhaustively annoying program in the SBC .....

Not that I wouldn't expect other schools to fight a well, but I'm sure the Eagles will drag it out as long and exhaustively as possible. Ughhhhh .....

Your admin should have brought this up at the beginning of your transition, or at the beginning of the season at the latest. Period.
I agree with the sentiment that it's a stupid rule to bar you guys and any other transition team from participating in a bowl in year one. But you guys bring it up at mid season? And extend that effort to the end of the season? And hold up potential invites to my school? Yeah, you're going to get backlash. In fact, its something you guys should have expected as soon as your admin announced an appeal. A bit foolish and self centered to think otherwise. Hence my perception of you GSU and GSU fans at this point. You're asking everyone to see it from your point of view, while refusing to even consider our point of view and why we might be a little upset.

Talking about "adult" and "reality" on a message board is kind of funny. As I said, anyone else would expect their administration to do the same thing. We aren't holding up anything. No one else has sent out any invites either. Is our appeal keeping them from doing so also?

Read my post a little closer ..... of course I would, I think it's just the fact that Ga South will do it in the most inconveinent, exhaustively annoying way possible, to the point of delaying announcements and letting other programs move on ......

Most athletic Directors have read the rules and know they can't go bowling in Transition years unless a shortage happens. Also once Southern hit 7 wins this should have taken place then.
