App vs Ga So 2015 and Beyond
Wondering what Mountaineer and Eagle fans think about the idea of moving our game to the first weekend in December. Don't want it on Thanksgiving weekend because students at each school won't be on campus. Considering the SB does not have a conf championship game that weekend is open. It's already an intense game, but with added possible championship implications it would be awesome. What do ya say?

I can see Georgia Southern fans running as fast as possible to sign up for a trip to App State in December.

I'd be okay with the first weekend in December when it's at your place if you're okay with a 1:00 kickoff Labor Day weekend when it's at our place!

You can keep that crap. Here is my take on the hot/cold thing. You can always put on more clothes if its cold. You can only take off so much and then you run into legal issues.

Let me tell you why this will not work, we use to play ULM for our last game of the season made perfectly good sense but Mr. Benson in his infamous wisdom changed the date. Just like making us play A-State on Tuesday nights the last couple of years which hurt both of our home attendance. So if Benson don't like it or come up with it, it's not good for the conference so good luck even though its a good idea.

I suppose the reasoning behind the Thursday games for Ark/ULL is to showcase the best two SBC teams in recent years. However, attendance was embarrassingly bad for what should be the top two teams. Move it back to Saturday.

Just my opinion but they should have Thursday games show off the best NFL skill position talent the conference has, be it at Ark St ULM GaState I don't care. So in 3-4 years when they are starting in the NFL fans can say ....wait a minute I saw that kid highlighted on a Thursday sunbelt game. Would help the entire conference for recruiting better IMO.

To calm some fears.. the historical average temp for Dec 5-10 is around 46 degrees and precipitation is less than one inch. Contrary to popular belief Boone isn't Siberia.

Statesboro isn't the Amazon, but that won't stop the weather from occasionally feeling like it.

I don't know if this is a good thing or not but I see the Ga. Southern/App game staying on Thursday night. I would like for the game to move into late October/early November instead of September but I have a feeling ESPN is going to want this game to stay on a Thursday night.

you are right except I'd take a Thursday we've been playing on Tuesday think about this how many of your fans or ours will be able to travel when we play each other if its on a Tuesday. If I have to play on Tuesday make it within driving distance.

Deal! On the road we get a month to practice against that offense and then on the road we get you guys in the cold, no brainer.

The way this season and last season has gone for both of our teams, I'm okay with continuing to play the game in September.

.... which is about 45-50 degrees colder than we like it ..... I also think Siberia is warmer .... :)

Could deal with 30-40 degrees with sunshine, but that low 200 foot cloud cover & fog ceiling in Nov/Dec ain't much fun either. I have to say I always liked the mid October date because I felt it was late enough in the season to settle early season jitters, and early enough to allow for some late season positioning & corrections. For both teams.

ESPN tells the SB who it wants to televise on Tuesday nights so they can have the "best matchup" possible. ESPN's opinion anyway. Back to Back Tuesday night games are a b###h, but if you get the routine down I guess it's ok.

Based on Benson's and ESPNs logic we may be relegated to Tuesday night for the foreseable future.
