Remember that time should have beat Illinois? Wait what about that time we outplayed Georgia Southern? No but we almost beat USA.

Same story different verse

With Fran as the coach, take NOTHING for granted.

What's worse: Two last minute losses... Those take a lot out of a team. We face a REALLY good stAte team on Thursday (short week), and we should be "emotionally" drained.

Plus, we are traveling back on this short week.

Doesn't bode well for my beloved bobcats on Thursday.

Could be argued that we are 3 plays away from being 8-2.

Granted, only idiots play that game, but hey... why not, right?

Texas State fans feel like USA fans did last year. Just go take care of business against Georgia State and maybe a bowl will open up. I would love to see all eligible teams bowling!

We could also try beating a good team at home and earning a bowl bid. We don't deserve to go to a bowl if we can't beat one team with a winning record. Arkansas State at home on ESPNU...a win in this game would set us up for a bowl bid and would be a boost for recruiting. We are overdue to win a game against a team with a winning record.

No... I think we knew exactly how much we needed this win. That's the frustrating part.

Home cooking? Bawawawa! The zebras tried to hand y'all the game on a silver platter on the bogue pass interference call near the end. Jag defender didn't even touch the guy. They were SBC officials. Man up and quit your bellyaching.

Didn't even touch the guy? He was hugging the receiver all the way up until seconds before the ball reached him...

With all due respect, we're Bobcats, Coached by the Great Franchoine. We've earned the right to bellyache .....

It wasn't even close to PI, but you got the call, and still lost. Good game, see you next year.

I have to say, I'm surprised by this outcome. With all the injuries and the bad offense by USA, I'm surprised they had it in them. Good for USA and Coach Jones. And I think this makes a bowl bid quite possible for USA. Remember App and Ga Southern can't bowl unless USA bowls first. The only way we don't bowl now is if Texas State wins out to finish 7-5 (possible, but they'll have to beat Arkansas State to do so) and USA loses their last two (probable - we play at South Carolina and host a strong Navy team at home). If USA and Texas State both finish 6-6, I think the Camellia or GDB would probably pick USA over Texas State.

Yup. Overcoming all of our injuries, playing a non-scholarship walk on at quarterback, and overcoming 4 turnovers to win is pretty remarkable.

I went back and looked at the replay and it was pass interference on the last TXST drive, and an easy call. Montell Garner was the guy with his hands up, as if to say he (Earl) didn't do it. But Earl (#7 covering over the middle), was all over the receiver. What made it even more confusing was that the ref threw the flag at Garner.

The refs were really bad last night, so it doesn't surprise me they would call it on the wrong guy.
