I can talk you this, from what I'm hearing about the fall, our hitters like the new ball... A lot.

I hope the New ball makes look better the small ball or rocket launchers is a few years ago. There has got to be a middle ground.

This should be it, the balls will still carry and not die in the outfield but the bats still aren't as live so less chance of killing a pitcher, which was the initial intent. I know this, we led the country in home runs for 2 years, with the old ball.

I hope so. In '08 or '09 GS hit 14 HR in a game. Last year the team hit 61 total.

uta has their usually tough schedule. we have michigan state, baylor, tcu, dbu, texas, and west virginia coming in and away games against wash. state, texas a-m, sfa, baylor, tcu, and mo state.

When you listed your "tough schedule," you forgot to mention TX ST . . . . . An oversight I'm sure . . . . 05-stirthepot

No tournament to open the season in San Marcos. I knew that a while back. However I heard sometime during the season last year we were hosting Oregon State in a 3 game series to open the season. Did my imagination make that up or did that deal fall through?

Based on Last Years RPI numbers here's about what each team will face:

Conference Average RPI faced: 119

(stAte and South Alabama schedules were not up so they are not listed)

That's great, thanks!

And thanks to UL for the RPI bump we'll get this year.

yes, just listing the noteworthy outsiders we are going to play. there are several strong programs in our conference..you guys are always tough and then there are the cajuns and gaso has a long history as a solid program. actually the belt should be rated as one of the top baseball leagues..

I'm not trying to be "that" person, but you can't talk about historically good baseball programs in the Sun Belt without mentioning South Alabama. To put it in perspective in 45 years UTA has gone to the NCAA Tournament a respectable 5 times. USA's baseball program is only 4 years older and has been to the NCAA Tournament 25 times. I know you were originally talking about OOC teams... So continue.

I'd say key pieces lost. The top 4 pitchers are gone. Milhorn who saw some time as a weekend starter looked good early last year, was a dumpster fire at the end of the season. Word is that he's been up and down in the fall. As it stands now, the cajuns have no Friday night guy to hang their hat on. There is a lot of young talent on the team, but there are going to be some serious growing pains this year.

Yes, there are some guys back who can hit, but you also have to take into account that they are swinging against some inexperienced arms this fall.

I see this as being a .500 ball club. Too many question marks and inexperience.

We will pitch and play defense, we always do. I think we will better than .500. We have pretty solid guys at each position, just not much depth. C Thurman, 1b davis, 2nd trosclair, SS Trahan, 3rd Robbin RF butler LFpowell. CF clement.... And we got a few guys we brought in that will fight for those spots. Looking forward to fall World Series,

I wouldn't consider this the final lineup at this point. Coach Rob said some of the new kids are playing really well this fall.

What is this "hitter" position ya'll refer to? Our coach only recruits pitchers, pitcher/infielder, pitcher/outfielder, defensive catchers, defensive infielders, and defensive outfielders.

Oh I wasn't suggesting that, was just throwing out guys that have been here and have some PT...but if that's our worst case scenario, I'll go to battle with those guys.
