I'm not being mean when I say this. But how is it that these teams are suppose to step it up. For the most part, historically, none of the teams in this conference have ever stepped it up, save for an upset here and there & maybe having a once in a generation season & then slipping back into oblivion.

Got whooped my a Mizzou team that lost to INDIANA and was killed by UGA. Lost to Penn State and have no really good wins. Beat a BYU team who lost their best player and is in a downward spiral. Beat Tulane by 7.

ECU at 47 doesn't make sense.

If ECU is 47 and Memphis is 32, then the world is flat and I'm 7 feet tall.

RE: ESPN Power Rankings - FOOTBALL not basketball - Tigers #32
We are the highest ranking team in the American. I enjoyed looking at the game and noticing all the positive stats our team has put up. We are the leading rushing team in the league and we haven't had our feature guys yet.

Houston which has beat us is the closest to us. Should we win out? It seems that way but I still see us as a young football team that is learning how to win. With young teams they lose a game or two or struggle in a game or two that they shouldn't. (please note in the upcoming bball season. Josh will use this line or two in a coming press conferences; as it should be.)

I"m happy for us to be noticed nationally in JF's third year. Hopefully this translates to unprecedented success.

I bet we'd tan ECU's hide at our place or theirs.

How close do you think ECU would play Ole Miss?

Why not?

Well let me pose this question to you...If we win the remainder of our games all by 20 points we probably fall in these rankings...Does that sound like a sound rating system.

No proof of that.

In fact, Memphis moved UP from 36 to 32 after beating SMU, the 4th LOWEST rated team in the rankings.

38 point differential...We have 4 99+ rated teams left on the schedule

SMU was 125. Still moved up four.

Still see no indication that they would move down. We'll see what happens after the Tulsa game.

ECU would get probably lose much worse than we did to Ole Miss...Defense wouldn't hold up.

Our matchup against ECU would be the same as out matchup against any other team...If we win up front we win the game.

Our 21 point loss to Ole Miss is rated as a better game than their 11 point win at S. Florida...Come on really

I'm not sure you understand the methodology behind the rankings.

Memphis only dropped 6 spots (from 34-40) losing at home to the 50th ranked team (Houston). Yet, you contend Memphis will drop if they win by 20+ points a game? Even when they just moved UP four spots after beating the 125th ranked team.

Again, we'll see after Tulsa.

ECU played the 106 and 100 ranked team the last two weeks and struggled with both (tied or down in the 4th with both) yet they only moved from 46 to 47.

Somehow you contend Memphis will win games by 20+ points and fall. Again, there is no indication this will bear itself out.

True...We won by 38 points on the Road...If we beat Tulsa by 20 points at home depending on what happens around us we very well may fall.

For Example San Jose St. Beat UNLV by 23 at home and got a game score of 52 which would be our 2nd lowest game score of the year.

Another example is Marshall is winning their games by 30 points a game with a similar schedule to what we have remaining and is only rated 4 spots higher.
