NIU/Balls selected for ESPN2
ESPN couldn't resist the lure of DAT Bronze Stalk!

http://espn.go.com/college-football/schedule/_/week/11

Week 12 vs Toledo should be a lock for ESPN2 as well.

Thanks for the good news. ESPN2 means better announcers.

Pete Lembo is a good coach and has BSU playing good football. They started out slow but they have improved as the season has progressed. This could be a difficult game for the Huskies.

Pete Lembo is vastly overrated as a coach. Let me know when he wins at least a MAC-West title. Ball State has improved as the season has progressed? No. They are 3-5. The last two games, they beat CMU and Akron, two middle-of-the-road MAC teams. Prior to that, they lost FIVE games in a row, including a home loss to Indiana State and a loss at Army.

The only part of your statement that's true is that this could be a difficult game for the Huskies. The way we're playing, just about any opponent could be difficult.

They won @CMU -- CMU with Rawls & Davis. They're more than flip-a-coin-win-or-lose MAC team, notably at home when having both guys. They are Improving. Akron & CMU both have the toughest Ds in the conference in yards or points given up per game -- and BSU scored on both. It's not like they beat EMU & Kent. Offense is what BSU needed to improve on, and they've done that now. I believe it's with their new QB.

It may be too early to say Lembo is a GREAT coach -- but he won 10 games last year, and 9 games the year before that. All while improving his offense (hence, his team) this year. If they had the offense they have now, they would have beat Iowa (the game they bonked at the end; had no O).

If Lembo gets the opportunity next Wednesday, he will really want to embarass NIU, no sympathy this time around from BSU.

I hope it turns out better than the last time NIU played a weeknight game at Ball State. We even had Reece Davis and Lou Holtz on hand for the game I believe, and laid an absolute egg. Granted it was a potential BCS busting Cardinal squad but still.

Geez, I had completely repressed that memory now you brought it back. That was the reason I completely shudder at the sight of Nate Davis when they show him on TV.

RE: NIU/Balls selected for ESPN2
My cousin is a redshirt freshman on Ball State's squad. He is roommates with Rolling Meadows' own Jack Milas, the redshirt freshman QB they turned the ball over to three games ago. Since then, Ball State has won two of three and lost a close one to WMU, all while putting up a good number of points each game. This is going to be a tough game for the Huskies. I wouldn't really pay much attention to Ball State's record, they've been playing much better football as of late. Milas doesn't turn the ball over and Edwards is a good running back. If NIU's offense doesn't wake up and play a lot better than they did against EMU, this could be rough night.

It would also be nice of the defense showed up.

The defense wasn't bad on Saturday.

Week 12 vs Toledo should be a lock for ESPN2 as well.

Their other option was Buffalo at Ohio so there was really no doubting it being on ESPN2 since they both have 3 conference losses.

It's hard for the defense to look bad against EMU.

I'm actually glad we're facing more of a pocket passing QB against Balls, especially an inexperienced one. Seemed like there were multiple 3rd & longs that the EMU qb picked up with his legs. If our D can get in the backfield and start to rattle him I can see some turnovers happening.

You mean like Miami's QB?

Hendrix has pretty good wheels.

If you want to be terrified though, go look at his stat line throwing it on Saturday and compare it to what happened in DeKalb the week before...yikes.
