Didn't tailgate today... but I've never parked so far away in my LIFE for a WMU game. And this was 1 hour before kick-off! I was pissed and giddy all at the same time. One of the best tailgating environments I've ever seen at WMU. Just awesome to walk through the crowds. It's stupid that you can't park at the KPH lot on game days. They're missing out on revenue.
Jarvion Franklin. You stud.
Corey Davis. Stud #2.
Early on, I thought Ohio's defensive game plan was really well planned, but poorly executed. They were disguising their defensive sets brilliantly and it was causing problems for us on offense... we made some really nice adjustments though and it worked out (clearly). Their front line was HUGE.
This is not the same Ohio team that I am used to seeing under Solich. They were very undisciplined today.
Besides one really bad mistake (the 2nd pick), Terrell has me believing. The stat sheet doesn't necessarily show it (2 INT's), but I thought it was arguably his best QB play of his career today. He made some really, really great throws. I am convinced he will be our quarterback next year, barring some extreme/unforeseen setback.
I lost a little bit of respect for Frank Solich today. Why on earth was Ohio still trying to comeback and score in the final minute of the game? Maybe it was because Fleck challenged the final kick return players' knee being down on the 3, and won the call? Who knows... Regardless, I thought it was kind of bogus for Solich to be using up all of his timeouts, down 42-14. I watched the final handshake very closely and Solich didn't even look Fleck in the eye, did a quick hand shake, and kept on walking. Didn't miss a step. The two didn't even exchange one word. Very odd.
We are one heck of a well-oiled machine. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I'd be pretty surprised if we didn't win out. That's how good we're playing.
I'm officially worried Fleck could be gone after this year, already. Yup, I said it.
