I would guess its the we know you are pissed at the Bears organization so we will throw you some cash if you give us their updated playbook position...

A DeKalb business owner and donor told me last Saturday that Lynch signed with Edmonton of the CFL. Guess that was wrong.

Lynch at safety is not such a bad idea. He has the speed, toughness, and he could read the QB. Dig up a clip of him making a tackle after throwing an INT vs Toledo two years ago, and you will see what I mean.

RE: New Jordan Lynch Tryout
Well guess he is/was part of Edmonton's negotiation list..
From 2012: http://www.torontosun.com/2012/10/17/edm...enty-at-qb

Quote:Jordan Lynch 5-11 220 Northern Illinois

Tillman’s Take: “Love this young man. He has exploded out of nowhere to become one of the more exciting players in U.S. college football. Was a backup last year behind Chandler Harnish, who was drafted by the Colts this past spring. Jordan can run as well or better than any quarterback in college football. As a first-year starter, he’s averaging almost 140 yards per game, which is a ridiculous number for a quarterback. His touchdown-to-interception ratio is something like 4:1, and his team has only lost one game. Jordan is a junior, but with his lack of height, is probably not an NFL quarterbacking prospect. I slapped him on our neg list a couple of weeks back and we’ll gladly be patient and watch his development. That said, the biggest fear is that the NFL will convert him to running back.”

Yeah our offense (Lions' offense) -- sucks right now. Our D is the best in the NFL, which is the only reason why we're winning. Our QB isn't the greatest -- but he can catch fire when we have a running game and our star receiver in -- but both big RB & WR are out right now.

Playing Lynch would be interesting & fun to watch.

RE: New Jordan Lynch Tryout
The Lions were down to their 4th string RB a couple weeks ago against the Bills. (I was at that game, then I went across the street to see Tigers/Orioles). However Bell returned from a concussion last week, Riddick returned from whatever his problem was and Bush should be back next week and word is that his being held out was more precautionary. So the Lions' RB situation looks greatly improved. They only have one fullback although he's one of the better ones.

At QB, Stafford is backed up by Orlovsky and Kellen Moore. It's hard to see Lynch breaking in there either. The secondary has had some injuries so that might be the most realistic place for him on the Lions depth chart, if he could make the adjustment.

Not sure why the Bears didn't try him at safety. Considering all the issues they have at safety he may have fit perfectly.

Going from college QB to NFL RB seems like a much easier transition both mentally and physically. He also wasn't going to make the team unless he was a solid special teams contributor and it seems like he had a tough time figuring that out. Blaming the Bears for anything Lynch related is just ridiculous. Hopefully the workout went well and he'll get a call if the Lions sustain any more injuries. Reggie Bush and Joique Bell are back to being healthy though.

Safety in the NFL you need to be fast! He ran a 4.7.

That is why he didnt play safety for the Bears.

Being offense as a QB was easier to transition to RB.

Actually, most safety 40 times in the past combine were between 4.6 - 4.8....

RE: New Jordan Lynch Tryout
He isn't fast enough to be a tailback, he doesn't throw accurately so he can't be a quarterback, and he's not a defensive player so that's just stupid to suggest he's going to take a position from someone who has studied the discipline their whole lives. His only hope is to bulk up and play fullback. Or park district flag football.
