How does a game played on Tuesday affect the last three years?

These Cajun fans are an interesting bunch. However, I suspect next Tuesday will quiet them down.

Well so far the past 3 years A-State is 2-1 against UL in head to head competition. UL is ahead of A-State in winning there bowl games by 1-game. I would basically say we are about even.

If A-State beats UL this Tuesday that means yall are 3-1 against UL in head to head competition, and UL is still up by 1-bowl game. So I would have to say that A-State would have the better team by 1-game in the past three years.

Yeah.

They want to dismiss conference championships, head-to-head match up and overall wins as significant in determining the best Sun Belt team over the past three seasons.

But, bowl game records? That's the one key defining stat. Haha.

These Cajun guys are humorous.

"Their team has backed up the talk for 4 and probably 5 of their games when you consider they were playing well enough to beat TN and may have if they had not lost their RB again. Other than 2 games against sub par talent, yours has not come close to backing up the 'major crap' you guys put out since last year."

"I'm fully confident they will bring it, and if your team plays it's best and they play their best they will still win, because their team is better than yours. Your best chance to win took the Boise job, and their new coach, like Malzahn and Freeze, is better than yours, a lot better in fact."

Your Bowl game wins are nice, but lets be clear, its hard to compare bowl game wins between the two. ASU has faced a 10 win team in each of our 3 bowl games, one top 25 team, and won 2 of 3. ULL faced teams with 7 and 8 wins two hours from home in front of 40,000 screaming fans.

That's a huge advantage. I'd like to see you guys against those teams in a more neutral site atmosphere and see what works.

No, Crazy.

I was told to look in the mirror, accusing me of "talking s***."

Link me to a post that I made "talking s***."

Shouldn't take much time, or patience, to scroll through my posts and prove me wrong.

Otherwise, I'd appreciate it if some of you Cajun fans would pipe it down and quit making baseless accusations against me.

Total: 33-13

I know, I know... "But FCS". Considering the results this year, I think we'll be able to hang, and I think it's pretty clear that 2013 was an outlier due to injuries and lack of motivation.

Overall impressions from last night: TXST looked very slow and unimaginative on offense. On top of that, the coaches quit pretty early in the game. Down 4 TDs in the 4th quarter and you're punting? Pitiful. The only thing that worries me about our game now is the travel.

Louisiana gained 7.32 yards/play against Georgia State, but only 6.37 against Texas State. If TXST had any offense at all, this game would have been a lot closer. UL looks better than they did earlier in the season, but I don't think they're good enough to get through the next 2 games unscathed.

Its really hard to get much offense if you play the same two run plays on first and second getting an average of 2 to -4 yards (total) setting up third and long over and over and over and over and over again and expecting a different result. Fran seems to think if you run it enough times you'll eventually wear them down.. He forgot to think that by going three and out so fast every time he wore his own defense out.

That is because we both had one lost in conference, and A-State beat UL in head to head competition. Causing yall to win the Sunbelt Conference by one game. Only difference in 2011 was that we lost a conference game against WKU. A-State did not

Congratulations!

Cajuns seem to take one frustrating league loss at the end of each season. Lost to WKU in 2011, lost to UNT in 2012, lost to ULM and USA in 2013.

If you don't lose those games in 2012 and 2013, you've got a full outright title, and a shared one to your credit instead of one shared title.

Actually what started the discussion was a stAte fan upset about the announcer saying we were the class of the league, then put up a graphic of everything we accomplished last year in football, basketball baseball and softball. So in fact, the discussion is and should be very much about that. You only want to discuss football and I certainly understand why you wouldn't want to discuss why the announcer said we were the class of the league. You keep harping on one posters opinion and want to make it as every cajun fan thinks that. You want us to go by the criteria you choose. Our programs are very close overall history wise and the past 3 years, I said earlier you have the edge in football right now, but if you want to actually discuss what the announcer said, and within the context it was said, stAte isn't in the discussion.

I'm sure if broadway doesn't break his arm, we win one of those last year and get the outright title. The north texas loss was actually early in the year, not at the end. 2011 we were picked dead last in the country and coming off 3-9 season...considering we ended up 9-4 and first bowl game/victory in 40 years, I'll give HUD a pass on that one. It's easy for everyone including myself to get wrapped up in the microwave society but HUD is still building this program. We have had attrition issues over the years because of our strength coaches crazy special forces type training. I think HUD is trying to find a good medium of training hard, making the guys tough and keeping an edge but at the same time, not running off talented players who don't want to be navy seals.

I agree.

Overall we are the better football program though, better overall winning %, own series head to head 22-19, 4-0 in bowl games compared to your 2-2, we have 4 more conference championships than you do. That's just my criteria though, but I guess we will go with yours that just happens to be the best 3 year period of your existence.
