Cajun Field Tuesday night - I'm worried about that one

I figure fans from both sides are worried about it. All I know is its a lousy time for UL to start playing well.

Next week would be even worse. 03-pissed

There are some other teams in this league that have something to say about that.

3 NO Bowl invites, having wins over SDSU,ECU, and Tulane, and also having over 45,000 in attendance for each of the games.

We won the Sunbelt in Basketball, and the only Sunbelt team to go the Big Dance in Basketball.

Only team in the Sunbelt to host a Regional and Super Regional in Baseball, and also was ranked #1 in the nation in Baseball.

The only team to host a regional, and Super Regional, and went to the WCWS in softball in the last year.

What has A-State done in the past year??

I don't think the announcer was talking about all of your Olympic Sports. Though I am sure you guys will find some way to claim he was.

They have wins against Tulsa, Idaho and UAPB 03-yawn ..Strenght of schedule 128th.

And Fran cost us a W vs Illinois. Our AD sucks at scheduling, too. Really need to clean house.

I doubt we'll be replacing the AD anytime soon, though I could be wrong. I would even be satisfied if we could get a competent play caller to start.

If thats true, I see a very empty stadium in our future home games at this rate.

Ok UL has won there bowl games the last three seasons. Ark St has only won 2 out of 3 bowl games in the past three seasons. What does that say for UL?

Would you say UL has done better in football then A-State in the past three seasons?

Canceling out UAPB for obvious reasons Texas state opponent combine for 7-19 record..before tonight..

2 loses: navy(3-4), Illinois(3-4)
3 wins Idaho(0-6) Tulsa(1-5) UAPB(FCS but 1-4)

The 2 wins against FBS opponents have been ugly! Tonight should be no surprise

No, we are not going to a bowl game this year. We got exposed tonight. I thought we could win this game, but we were not even competitive. Our three wins this season over schools with a combined record of 2-15 were real. We had a win over a bad FCS team and two wins over subpar FBS teams. We are just not that good.

The blowout Navy loss with two weeks to prepare and this blowout loss with ten days to prepare reflects poorly on Coach Fran and his staff. Both at home and both on National TV. These are the kind of losses that will discourage the fan base, kill recruiting and ultimately get Coach Fran and his staff fired.

If anything I'd say they are pretty even. Both have over 30 wins since 2011.. Only difference is # of tittles to ASU..bowl wins to ULL

Coaching is another difference ASU has yet to have a coach for their bowl games..cost them against NIu in 2011

2011 ASU 10-3 ULL 9-4
2012: ASU 10-3 ULL 9-4
2013: ASU 8-5 ULL 9-4
2014: ASU 4-2 ULL 3-3

Total In that time period: ASU 32-13 ULL 30-15

Conference Titles in that time period: ASU 3 ULL 1

Head to head victories in that time period: ASU 2 ULL 1

Head Coaches since 2011 ASU 4 ULL 1

Congrats...You have one more bowl win than we do, we lost that one bowl game where we had 5 coaches on staff for the game. Statistics tend to point though that the two sides are pretty much dead even, with ASU being the better regular season team in that time period.

So, No, I do not consider ULL better than ASU in that time period.

I think A State has been the overall better football program slightly!!

But overall athletic program - sorry the Cajuns are a level above A State right now , and thus probably the class of the Sun Belt .

BTW rematch that win over Ga State - Not really a fluke .... The national Defensive Player of the Year in all of college basketball won that game out and out - no fluke involved.

I would say in the past three years that both A-State and UL are about even in Football.

I do agree the ULL tourney win was no fluke. Saying it was a fluke would be acknowledging that Georgia State could only beat themselves, and people forget the Cajuns took that game.

They may have gotten some help from the defense suffocating Harrow and eventually forcing him to try and do too much, but that was a clear win.

To be completely honest, ULL has so many advantages over everyone else in baseball and softball, I don't often count those results. It wouldn't be fair to compare them to an Arkansas State there because we don't have near the facilities they do.

So I feel as though I have been kicked in the balls. Worst loss I have seen in my time here at TXST.

We know how you feel. Last year Bryan Harsin had already lost a good portion of the fan base by simply getting plastered by Memphis, but there were fans who were done for the year after he came in and essentially gave up in the ULL game. It was embarrassing.

We're really lucky that Boise took him off our hands for us.

Had the same thought. I'm not claiming we are (haven't been here long enough for that) but I did think stAte has a valid argument.

Texas State is not a good team. They lack talent, speed and a play caller in the booth. Something is wrong in San Marvelous.

It would be interesting if there were a shortage of bowl teams, and Ga So got paired up against ULL or us.

(assuming they could get a waiver)
