This

Troy/UAB, MTSU/Memphis and a few other intrastate G5 rivalry games are an indicator of how many will show. I am going to guess 25k

That sounds about right. Because of the Tech game (already attended one ATL game), I wouldn't expect GS to have more than 10k. Hope I am wrong

We have a bunch of people in Atlanta. They didn't have to travel like they did to Statesboro, that's one reason why our turnout was so good.

Hell games in Atlanta are closer for me than Statesboro and I live in Middle Georgia. We'll have a very strong turnout for the Gast game as well.

I doubt the interest is there to go much above 25k. GS alumni in Atlanta are Atlantans. They will always find something better to do on a pretty fall day in October.

I can see 15,000 from each school, so I will raise you 5,000.

30,000
Maybe if they had not already played GT. GT was the Super Bowl. This game becomes an afterthought

Not really. Every Eagle fan I know is looking forward to the State game. You're not getting off that easy.

LOL...not trying to get off. I would love for this to be a game that draws 40k. But we all as suer fans who know a handfull of other super fans isnt going to add up to more than 25k I am afraid. It will be the most well attended game by our students in 3 years. I am sure of that, because they have friends attending GS. It will bring out every STH. And it will bring a significant number of GS alumni in Atlanta. But we have learned about games that look good on paper and for which people on both sides say "oh yeah wouldnt miss it" and then comes game day, Clark Atlanta and SC State come to mind as two with a lot of ties and divided households and yet the crowd didnt materialize. Like I said you look at Troy/UAB and you get a good idea of how many come to a G5 intrastate rivalry game and they have been playing that one a long time.

RE: GS/GSU ticket sales
There will over 10K Southern fans. Students alone will show up in big numbers. The total attendance could be over 30K if State fans showed up but I doubt they will.

25,000 is about right. But I'm more worried about Panther fans not showing up than Eagle fans not showing up. I want both sides to show up so we can really hate one another properly. We'll have our 10-15K there because tickets are cheaper than the Tech game and more abundant. It's not often that we get to play in Atlanta, much less twice in one season. We've been waiting for this game since y'all got started.

Any word on a kickoff time? I've heard some unofficial stuff float around, but not making any plans until I get confirmation. I wonder if they are trying to get it on TV, and would be at the mercy of the network?

I've heard that as well, but if someone wants to pick us up last minute for the noon slot, I'm sure we'll take on TV at whatever time vs setting our own time and not being on TV.

So let's say your crowd had a season high showing and you bring 10k fans, with our 15k we should have a nice little crowd for that game. Hope they don't ruin it with a crappy kickoff time.
