So I was looking at Idaho's roster and counted 31 JuCo and other transfers. That's craziness. Is their roster always like that? Any Idaho fans around here that can comment?

I also noticed that they have some serious size. 13 guys that are at least 6'5" and 16 guys that are 300+ pounds (including 6 on their D-line). By comparison, we have 9 guys that are at least 6'5" (8 freshmen and 1 sophomore) and 7 guys that are 300+ pounds (2 on the D-line).

We better hope they are just big and slow!

It's simple, you don't feel threatened by us. If Purdue gets blown out this week or you have a couple of bad losses or key injuries, then you'll start hating us again.

For all things holy -- you should. Why? It makes the conference better.

CMU won't go 9-3 this year -- but they will do 'ok', 8 wins at best. Point being, the likes of Buffalo, Kent, Miami, and (sigh) the Emoos -- none of us want any more drag on things.

If/when CMU beats WMU this year (don't get too cocky) -- you don't want to play the limping dog, just as we wouldn't. You want a dog with a bite.

And when it's non-conf: Everyone roots for everyone else in our conference -- so we can maul them all down come conference season.

Its strange to me that the CMU/Purdue game has completely deflated all optimism from the performance @Purdue week 1. There were some encouraging signs in that game. I've seen good WMU teams lose to middling and bad B1G teams frequently and its never been reason enough for me to believe we couldn't beat a lower tier FBS program like Idaho. So I'm not certain that we're a "limping dog". I'm really looking forward to seeing what we've got against a team like Idaho. I want to see if Terrell is ready to win a shoot out if need be and what kind of adjustments the defense has made. This is an intriguing game that is going to go a long way in determining the kind of season this will be. Can't wait for tomorrow fellas.

For me, it's more discouraging from a stand point of how CMU was able to take advantage and really capitalize on Purdue's mistakes versus what we did, which was very little. Like someone else said on the thread, they were very opportunistic. We were not. For now, I'll give us the benefit of the doubt... but if things don't change against Idaho and Murray St., I'll be more worried.

My heart says Broncos but home field and long road trip for young team may give edge to Vandals.

Really glad I will be driving to a wedding during this game. I just have a bad feeling that we are set up for an embarrassing loss. Like 65-14 embarrassing. I pray to everything holy I am wrong in a big way!!! Please show up to play BRONCOS.

Until the Broncos show something more than just running with a bad team, only to lose in the end, hard to for me to be optimistic versus any opponent.

I'm with Kimbo and hope we do not embarrass ourselves.

I don't think it will come easy, but I see WMU coming out with a much more effective offensive plan, with a passing attack set up by a strong running game. It's time for the youngsters, including the coach, to clearly demonstrate a step forward in the program.

Broncos win

My last post was somewhat negative, so I will now explore some positives.


Idaho is very clearly a pass-first team, which plays right into the strength of our team. Especially with a healthy Celiscar and Currie, the DBs should continue to be the dominant force on our defense. We NEED NEED NEED to get some pressure on the QB though. 7 sacks in the last 13 games is completely unacceptable. I am not a believer in our undersized D-line until they show me something different.

On the flip side our WRs could potentially torch a struggling Idaho secondary. If Terrell starts out fast, we could put up big points very quickly. That's a big "IF" though considering the way he started against Purdue.

I think the story of the game will be how their bad run game matches up with our bad run defense. Whichever team wins that battle will win the game.
