So far:

UConn: 35,150
Tulsa: 19,032

Not bad imo. UConn and Tulsa are right around their 4 year average. Houston well above. Time to see what Memphis, USF and ECU have. Will be interesting to see how well the conference draws throughout the season.

Memphis' last 2 home openers have been 39,000 and 44,000. Its raining all day today though so I wouldn't predict anywhere close to those numbers. Especially being against Austin Peay

Yep, probably 20,000 - 25,000.

03-banghead

I'm just guessing with rain and playing a crappy team. I think we will average above 40,000.

I think that I heard 27,363

Houston's stadium seats 43,000 and change. There were more than 3,000 empty seats.

the capacity is 40k and we were 700 over capacity
The upper decks looked a bit sparse on the edges even in the 1st quarter. Not saying there weren't a junk ton of people there though.

As I said in the game thread, Houstonians are notoriously late arrivals. There was also a bottle neck for parking and at the gates. I know of some people that arrived on campus 45 minutes before kick and didn't get into the stadium until 8:30.

I took some panoramic shots during the 2nd quarter, and it looked full. Also, we have standing room all around the concourses, especially the endzones, where people hang out and drink.

Weak attendance by the Pirates. freaking lame. It felt like more in the stands but I suppose I may have overlooked some areas.

CR, where'd you find that number? JW.

You can thank the 2 thursday night games for killing season ticket #s along with the stupid 3 game mini packs which include UNC. The thursday night #s are going to be brutal I have a feeling.

ESPN isn't reporting attendance this year in their box scores. Weird.

ECU will indeed be the attendance leader. They are the only one's that stand a chance of averaging 50k or more. I would rather have a packed stadium no matter the attendance. The problem we have at Temple is that realistically our attendance has a ceiling of perhaps 40k or 45k. That's due to their being other colleges in the area as well as NFL football. Yet our stadium holds 70k.

Wow, from my seats, it looked like at least 45K. Must've been a bunch of empty seats behind me, lol.

UCF's attendance ceiling is 45k because that's our capacity.

That had to be a error, looked to be 45-46 easy, but not over that.

Agree. Last night was "first game in awesome stadium" attendance.

Tulsa will have 30,000 next week, plus any standing room only that is allowed to be sold. IMO TU will see an increase to the norm from their fan base, roughly 1k-2k, and unfortunately the other 8k-9k will come from Sooner fans.

Even during the highly successful Todd Graham/Gus Malzahn/Chad Morris era TU struggled to avg 25k. 03-banghead
