If UAB defeats Mississippi State..... Do they have a case for the Top 25?

Troy passed for 201 yards today. If there's a negative with the defense, our pass defense is it -- but this is, oh, 131 yards better than last year vs. Troy in the air, so we are significantly better in that regard.

"To have a start to the season like this is wonderful," Steve Irvine.

That's the biggest understatement of the day.

I suspect Troy may be quite bad, but that doesn't matter.

We played well.

I would guess 25,000 in attendance, but I'm not good at things like that.

To see the faces of the players after the game, you can see how big this win was for this team.

I was amazed with the lack of penalties on us especially for a first game with a new QB.

Defense looks vastly improved but I don't know how much of that is us and how much is Troy being with a new QB. I suspect it is a little of both.

Somewhat concerned by Clements lack of accuracy on longer throws. But of course if we continue to control the line of scrimmage and run it like we did today we should be in good shape.

Overall a very impressive debut for Coach Clark.

Clark mentioned in the post game that the whole staff was amazed by the focus of the team during walkthrough yesterday.

More excitement today in Legion field then I can remember in the last 3 or 4 years combined. I was waiting on the other shoe to drop well into the fourth. But the defense nor offense let up.

Howard is a beast . Back man is one of the biggest tight ends I have ever seen. Clements played great except that ball that slipped out. Like I said he is impressive with his feet. Did Troy get a sack? That o line was great also. Coach Clark is the real deal. Troy is not a push over they were just out coached and out played.

I would have guessed 30,000 at the game but box score says 27,000+. Troy brought a good crowd. They left early!

We won the game pretty decisively. I expect al.com to have an article about fan attendance tomorrow morning.

That's still a decent crowd. Maybe we can keep that number up in that range if this team wins a few more like this.

I agree. Especially considering the past DECADE. Atmosphere was very good too. Just think what it would have been in a 35,000 seat OCS.
