RE: 2 Deep! (Spoiler: OR is the Starting QB)
Many teams don't know who their best Qb is until things get real. CMU won three titles and LeFevour didn't play until the other guy got hurt. Kill played Grady over Harnish in game 1. NC State picked Glennon over Wilson. Brady was not the "guy" at Michigan, Henson was. Point is coaches can't really tell all the time. They don't know until Saturday.

RE: 2 Deep! (Spoiler: OR is the Starting QB)
Johnny football won the Heisman as a frosh, Winston beat out a redshirt junior who was highly touted to win the Heisman and lead his team to a national title. Sometimes the coaches have a vision for the player and the program and pick the right guy. Michigan obviously made the mistake of choosing Griese over Brady, but that had a lot to do with the family name. We don't have that problem.

Some knucklehead also started Eric Kresser over Chad Pennington at Marshall... Are you kidding me???!!!! Let's hope something like that doesn't happen here.

Hopefully, that won't be the case.

We have already past the point of no return on the Northwestern game, whoever is QB for that game will not be as prepared as they would have been if a decision had been made by now. The only conclusion one can come up with is that NIU is going to use 3 QBs the whole season, no coach would be that ill-prepared to let this decision play out this long. I just don't believe rotating in 2 QBs is a good idea, let alone 3.

RE: 2 Deep! (Spoiler: OR is the Starting QB)
I think this pretty much sums it up.

"Hare is the pocket passer, Maddie can run and pass, while McIntosh has been around the longest, and has the game-manager mentality, according to offensive coordinator Bob Cole."

Maddie seems to have the most upside but it could just be a matter of whether he is ready mentally for the keys to be handed to him. McIntosh seems like the safe pick but I am not really getting that big play / game winning drive vibe about him based on what I have read thus far. Hare has a big arm but seems to lack the mobility we like to see in system. I am starting to think Maddie would be the ideal fit if he is ready mentally and has a good handle on the playbook.

There is no way they are using 3 QBs all year. Stop making outlandish statements.

How are you coming up with this conclusion? Because they haven't played a single game yet and you act like you know the future. Plus they play a crappy team first.

When you wake up do you just jump to the worst possible conclusion for two weeks down the road because you have a cold today? Get a grip.

The QB issue is far too common. Frustrating but common.

Peats son at Stanford I believe is a preseason all American. Big boy, too bad NIU couldn't get his sons. I mean they have a great line but those guys are potential top draft choices.

A tidbit from the game notes:

YOUTH MOVEMENT: Heading into the 2014 season, the Huskies rank as one of
the youngest teams in the nation. As camp broke in early August, 73 of the 105
players on the roster were either freshmen or sophomores - a whopping 69.5
percent of the entire team. That number puts NIU fifth nationally and first in the
Mid-American Conference for the country’s youngest roster. Among
the other most youthful rosters: Pittsburgh (78.6 percent), Penn State
(72.4 percent), North Carolina State (70.5 percent), Wake Forest (70.5
percent) and Purdue (69.3 percent).
