Well, I would suppose that is the reason they are building a stadium that sits 23,000. If they get 17,000 per game, then it certainly wouldn't look like a cavern.

smu is a good example of that. they built a nice but small on campus stadium and they never fill it unless they bring in a marquee team that has a large following such as texas or a-m. better than having a large stadium with a bunch of empty seats

You don't think they'd fill it if North Texas or Texas State played there?

Looks like a nice place but its going to be cozy.

Uh, ASUs stadium holds 31,000...that's 'cozy' as well.

It looks far more like 19,000 seat Sporting Park than 31,000 seat Centennial Bank

But it's not...

You seem to think this is some sort of slam on Tulane. It's not if you want a pissing match fine, but it still looks more like a soccer specific stadium than a football stadium. I'm sure its nice but the design creates a different vibe.

As I've said before, there's nothing wrong with looking to MLS for design ideas.

Sure they would, Tx St and NTSU both feel they have something to prove. There probably would be more NTSU and Tx St fans there than SMU.

Don't know about MLS, don't care about MLS, but if they want a full stadium they should have looked at Acadiana High in Lafayette. They seat about 3K consistently and that's about what toolame does.

20K average? Go home JD you are drunk. You couldn't put 15K in the dome for the N.O. bowl.

Come on man.

BWAHAHAHa! Yeah, we envy the football prowess MSU has shown over the years as well!
We'll put 42K in Cajun Field for Southern and La Tech. The fire marshall has already stated that he will limit occupants.

How many games will it take Memphis to reach 42K total attdce?

Funner fact , stop living in the past, jack wad.

Even funnerer fact, UL would stomp a mud hole in that MSU ass in any number of things at this present time.

I think it's sorta dumb to try to diminish someone for the accomplishment of getting an on-campus stadium.

I see you play in NO this year... will this be ESPNs pillow fight of the week?

The thread actually had nothing to do with their on-campus stadium when I started it.07-coffee3 It was just an observation on their use of words.

Memphis averaged 28,537
UL-L averaged 25,976

And we had a bad year...when we have a good season (like 2004) we can average over 41,000 (41,175 to be exact)

Post renovation, the Liberty Bowl holds 59,000 (down from 62k)
