It's less than impressive.

Its a long way from the SEC years fore sure!

It isnt even finished. Judge it when its done.

I judge it by the seating capacity regardless of the amenities added to the stadium. It speaks volumes of where your program is today and not it's history.

Looks like a nice place but its going to be cozy.

Uh, ASUs stadium holds 31,000...that's 'cozy' as well.

It looks far more like 19,000 seat Sporting Park than 31,000 seat Centennial Bank

Done or not the only thing it has going for it is that it's new. It's a middling stadium that happens to be new. People made it out like it was going to be impressive. You have to have more than just be new. Every stadium was new at some point.

Houston's built a fine looking stadium.

small, and they still wont draw. Its going to be hilarious when the NO Bowl assoc finally gets that yearly game in the Dome between UL and a BCS opponent going. UL vs ?? will draw more in that one game in NO than Tulane will draw all year.

Considering where they shoehorned the thing in on their campus and the neighborhood it sits next to, I'd call it a pretty impressive accomplishment just to get anything of that size approved and built.

Its not like they just had a giant field just off of campus to build a sprawled out structure surrounded by a sea of parking.

I guess it goes to show that they don't have any fears of filling even this new stadium.

Uhhhh no. We are not in the University of Louisiana (+regional/directional name) system. We are the only school to ever hold the pure title of University of Louisiana for more than a hot minute. As a result, our school seal holds this part of history.

But thanks for trying to troll us?

Yes you guys were the original University of Louisiana. Your school changed it's name in 1882. I've been to Maclister Aud and seen that old sign hanging "University of Louisiana". It really should be taken down. Tulane is a well known and respected name. Trying to muddy the waters by reverting from time to time back to the University of Louisiana isn't a smart move. Then again you guys did leave the SEC. I suspect you're just trying to yank our chain.

Good luck with the new stadium. I suspect attendance will be good this year even if you don't have a winning record. As we know winning solves everything. I have never seen Tulane as a rival. It's always fun to beat an instate school but I have no hate for the Greenies. I don't think we really butt heads very much for recruits. Put a fun and quality product on the field and it should be a success. If you tank the locals will just keep going to BR. I believe Tulane's enrollment is around the 13,500. If half of the student body goes to the games, 3,000 alumni go and you can win back at least 10,000 locals, you guys will have a full stadium right? It's not far fetched IF you win.

It would be really cool if we could play at least one game every year in the Superdome. USM if they can start winning again would be an excellent opponent. UL vs. a good USM team could fill the dome.

Another Louisiana - Lafayette thread on Tulane. The 30 year and counting ULL obsession with Tulane continues.

But it's not...

You seem to think this is some sort of slam on Tulane. It's not if you want a pissing match fine, but it still looks more like a soccer specific stadium than a football stadium. I'm sure its nice but the design creates a different vibe.

They should be excited about it. Back in a college-type environment instead of that cavern.

Well, I would suppose that is the reason they are building a stadium that sits 23,000. If they get 17,000 per game, then it certainly wouldn't look like a cavern.

smu is a good example of that. they built a nice but small on campus stadium and they never fill it unless they bring in a marquee team that has a large following such as texas or a-m. better than having a large stadium with a bunch of empty seats

Heres what I obsess on, you small time fool. Without the city of New Orleans being a hotbed of highschool football, Toolame would be in the Southland conference.

Deny it.
