What food is your area known for?
We always try to theme our tailgate/suite food based on who we're playing. With all the change that's a little harder these days. So tell us what your known for. Bonus points for local brews.

I would say we are best known for Hot Chicken and BBQ. Yazoo and May day are a couple of local breweries.

I would say #1 is BBQ but surprisingly there is a large mediterrain food in Birmingham.

As far as breweries they seemed to pop up right as I was leaving. But I do know a couple really good growler places downtown.

Does cocaine count as a food option? If not, then early bird specials. 03-old

Birmingham is one of the growing foodie hot spots. It seems like we have a couple of new restaurants opening each week. At this point it's gone from BBQ/southern to anything you can think of

Hot dogs, corn bread and beans, Italian. WV has a large Italian heritage population - more in the northern areas, but we have a ton of great Italian eateries. jmo.

Volkmar, I'm shocked you didn't say San Antonio is known for our German food. :-)

Take it up with the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council. West Virginia Hot Dogs are #1.

RE: What food is your area known for?
I would say the Cubano (Cuban Sandwhich) would be for S. Florida. Theres a couple of decent places in Boca, and that school down south has even more options. It is one of my favorite things to eat. I've never had the Tampa version with Salami, but I cant imagine it would hurt the flavor any.

Alternative names Cuban mix, Cuban pressed sandwich, Cubano, mixto

Place of origin United States

Region or state Florida

Main ingredients Cuban bread, ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, sometimes salami

Variations Tampa (w/ salami)
South Florida (w/o salami)
