Given that Martin has been wrong before, and given that nobody else in the media had said a word about any of this yet, it certainly was a logical position to be skeptical.
But he was right, and I give him credit for that. It's fine with me. If you're wrong, you're wrong, and if you're right, you're right.
What I don't understand is why everything here always has to be a battle about who is right and who is wrong. Every discussion we have here becomes more about the personalities involved, and old baggage, rather than discussing the actual subject at hand.
The gloating on either side is quite infantile, too. Gets very tiresome to even try to participate here in an actual serious discussion.
That's what happens when one particular person is treated with kid gloves while everyone else with info is bashed on a regular basis.
good point.
I would also add that anyone interested can go read my first post on this matter. I simply tried to explain the rule about hiring a 3rd assistant. You can pick it up from there and it should explain every post I made afterwards. I was simply bobbing and weavnig, trying not to get hit with "good fan fists".
Yeah, right. I got into it with you b/c you said I was jealous of Martin, after "failing" with TrueBlueTigers. It wasn't me who swung the first fist. You take a shot at me, and I'll swing back. You tend to play the part of the victim, even when you throw the first punch.
I didn't fail at TrueBlueTigers. I just decided it wasn't enough fun for the effort I had to put into it, linking news stories, writing blog entries, etc. It was taking me 6-8 hours a day to keep it up, and it became too much like a job. Plus, I was doing it for free, in case you forgot.
And I'm not jealous of anybody. I'm old and happy, and retired, and do what I like when I like, and stop doing it when I like.
not sure I ever said you were jealous of anything. It was not an accident I did not name names. That is not allowed here (hence the reason that part was moved once others started naming other sites). Maybe you assumed too much. Just like 80stiger was not talking about you in his scenario but you took it as such. Enjoy retirement. Maybe you will have time to crank up TBT again. Some good info over there back in the day.
Okay, maybe you were talking about somebody else, and I assumed it was me. If so, my bad. As for TBT, thank you, but it really is too much work. Retirement should be more fun, and less work, lol.

Remember when I wrote earlier this week that Ole Miss could offer a coaching job to Skal Labissiere’s guardian? There was a reason.
I was skeptical of Martin at first, but he obviously got it right. Heck, Keith was skeptical, too, until he started poking around. At first, I doubted that OM was "on the same level as Memphis and UK" with Skal, and also doubted that they would actually offer Hamilton an assistant's position.

You and your buddies' source of information dried up; was mostly grabbed by Roar and you got your feelings hurted. Then the joke website got shut down because you were sharing his info. It makes me laugh when you and your buddies claim that people are jealous of JM The jealousy is ALL on your end.
JM beat Roar on the Lawson coaching announcement and he is on the ball as far as Skal goes. Important note; it does NOT matter if Skal goes to Ole Piss or not; JM's info it seems is good.
Nothings dried up
JM didn't beat anyone on the Lawson deal, no one
I was there when the first phone call was made
Noone has ever garnered all the info, including me
But with GP, JM and myself sharing info, Roar, by the way Grant does a good job, very little info gets missed
Carry on

Me either, that's why I called coaches, the handler and an agent, who is asking the right questions for the kid
I recommend mentioning the sources accessed in the manner you have presented it above when you releasing information. Also, the reader is better served by releasing all known information at once rather than peicemeal. Finally, you are only as good as your sources. The next time they are wrong (and you are well aware it will happen) I expect the same depth of contrition then as the crowing I see now.

I am officially over Skal's recruitment. Good luck young man. I WILL NOT celebrate if we sign him.

Yeah, Hamilton seems to be the fly in the ointment, not Skal. But every time we get on an elite recruitment, we seem to have to abide something like this. Definitely makes it harder to get excited about the outcome, which is being manipulated by those around the recruit, for their own benefit. Always disheartening.
I'm sure other schools felt that way about the Lawsons, but at least Dad was qualified to take the job.

True, but until Vandy called me it was NEVER an issue.
GP writes the story and the rest is history.
I actually believe the Keelon hire was a catalyst for what is now going on with Skal.
To hire an IT guy with NO hoops experience will be seen as a negative, whereas there was little backlash over the Lawson hire.
Although this has been smoldering for over a year.

Honest (non-pointed) question: Is there a chance of down-the-road blowback as a result of this in the form of NCAA rules?
I have obvious bias, but I see hiring an IT guy on coaching staff to get a recruit as a different animal than hiring a guy who won a state HS championship (and who went undefeated).
At least the coaches laptops will be hummin'

I really don't know the answer to that, IMO it's the best place for him.
Better surrounding cast, etc.
Sonny Vaccaro taught me "That ultimately a person will give into his own greed"
He will only be at Memphis 10 months, then a possible lottery pick
The person reaching out to NBA clubs thinks he should go to college and has talked to Josh about it.
I hope the handler thinks long term rather than short, not convinced that will be the case.
If a caring business or individual from Memphis wanted to do some civic work and help a ministry out.........
It's sad on so many levels
Completely different than the Lawson's

Its amazing how some people can't be patient enough instead of trying to rush to get rich quickly and possibly do more harm to themselves and the product (Skal) than they could have imagine.

I know. Once you start learning the specifics of a situation like this, you just wind up wanting what's best for the young person.
