I was present at the planning sessions on the creation of this bill. I fully and completely support mandating restroom access for members of our Transgendered community. I believe that the best and safest way to enable this is to allow people to use the bathroom consistent with the gender they are presenting.
I've already got my donation ready to defend this bill. It'l be a very large donation.
I've personally lobbied for the bill. I'm not the leader of the movement, but I'm definately a part of it.
And the bill no longer has any bathroom provisions in it.

We had a discussion regarding whether to include equal access provisions in this law. Our opinion is that Riggle and Young and Dave Wilson would get this on the ballot and lie about it anyway regardless of what was in it, so lets just go for all protections. It only takes 17,000 signatures (public) to put this on the ballot. We're expecting a ballot fight. We'll be fully funded. And we've been working Houston companies and politicians and groups for several years on this. We've got our ducks in a row on this one.
We have the Houston business community behind this. We have the African American leadership behind this. We have the Hispanic leadership behind this. We have all of the Asian leadership supporting this. We have sizeable groups of Republicans supporting this. The other side has Jared Woodfill, ultra conservative churches, and people outside of Houston opposing this. It will be a fight, but we're ready.
Okay, Riggle/Wilson/Young, how many millions of dollars do you want to spend to try and repeal a non-discrimination bill? Because thats what this bill is about.
We're ready. Its not 1985 anymore.
