Christian protesters interrupted Hindu prayer in the Senate.

Apparently prayer is good, unless it's not Christian.

RE: Typical
Why are we having Hindu, or any other religion's, prayer in the Senate when activities are excluded fron other public places, like schools?

Congress opens with Christian prayer.

You've never seen liberals shouting down conservatives to the point where the conservative speaker gives up and leaves? Really?

yeah not endorsing that.....

however in this case doing it to someone simply because of their choice in religion is so classless, distasteful, and so far behind the times that I have no idea what to say other than be sickened by that.

anyone remotely defending this should be ashamed of themselves.

Never seen liberals shout down a Christian prayer in Congress.

The Christian Conservative mantra: "All religions are equal. Just some are more equal than others."

The Christian Conservative mantra: selective enforcement of the constitution.

Not Westboro.

So you're saying that Hindu prayer should be allowed in Congress? Muslim prayer? Buddhist prayer?

Are there any Hindus in the Nevada state senate? If so then this was shockingly rude. If not, then then putting that man up there was itself an insult as it was nothing but a farce to prove some political point.

It was the United States Senate.

RE: Typical
I just don't understand the reason for prayer in any Senate by any religion. Not diminishing the Hindu prayer, at all, but unclear as to the double standard as applied to other "public" places.

I would not want an evangelical Christian to be giving a prayer before a government hearing, much less one from another religion.

**** should be separated.

Personally, I would say no.. unless there's a Hindu serving, or a Muslim serving, or a buddhist, etc.

I disagree with smitty, who says he doesn't see a reason for any prayer. But I wouldn't discriminate against a religious beliver that wants their prayer heard.

But that wasn't my point, math. Again, my point is that you've got one group with loud protests and you went with the "Typical" comment.
