Not knocking you but are we that desperate that the above teams are in our footprint? I know times are hard, but geez. If I misinterpreted your post, I apologize.
No way are we desperate and really times aren't that hard. I'd honestly prefer NOT adding anyone this year.
- Missouri State will still be there, and maybe a year of talking will change their mind.
- JMU isn't going anywhere, and another year of pressure from donors might be able to get them to jump.
- EKU isn't going anywhere, and could use another year to get their ducks in a row.
- Liberty isn't going anywhere, and if the above still say no, we can always add them.
The only thing we "sacrifice" is a championship game in 2016, which we didn't have before, and odds are good the game itself wouldn't pay much anyway (dividing it by 12).
To me, we are in a great position to wait for the best possible add.
It seems (and who really knows in the presidents' minds? It could simply be that they are the one making public noise right now that gives off that vibe) that EKU leapfrogged Liberty in appeal. IF that is the case (and it's a big IF), then Liberty is the fallback fallback plan.
To me, Liberty or JMU are the only ones that should be invited this year because they are ready to go NOW. Otherwise, let Missouri State or EKU take a year to get ACTUALLY ready.
