adding schools like jsu and eku would just make stAte and U-laf that more determined to leave. I have family in jacksonville and they say they would never think of sending their kids there to school..we need to add better or stand pat.

If it's a terrible place why do they stay?
What is so great about ULL and A State that separates them from EKU or JSU?

UTA? Can't say much about it as I never heard of it unless it mean UT Austin but most people in my area just call it Texas.

What is so great about JSU or EKU that makes you think you are better? What do you bring to the SBC beyond being located in the foot print that others don't have? The difference to me is clear, both UL and Astate have accomplished something in the FBS, what has JSU or EKU?

Thought he was talking academics?
I don't believe either is better or worse than ULL or A St.
JSU or EKU haven't accomplished anything at the FBS level but neither have played in the subdivision. Give them a few years and both would accomplish quite a bit.
It is not going to be nearly as easy as you think...ask Massachusetts and Georgia State. It might be a little easier than it was for ULL and ASU only because there are many more schools that have moved up and you won't be playing Texas A&M, Alabama and the like for most of your games. I would also put ASU and ULL's academics up against you guys any day of the week.

LOL!!! Nice try, UL-Lafayette National Research Institution, Jacksonville State (Regional University).

UL-Lafayette- a national research and doctoral university as noted by its Carnegie categorization as a RU/H: research university (high research activity). Endowment $130,000,000

JSU- a regional public coeducational university located in Jacksonville, Alabama, USA. Founded in 1883, Jacksonville State offers programs of study in five academic units leading to Bachelor's, Master's, Education Specialist, and Doctorate in addition to continuing and distance education programs. In the Fall semester of 2011, JSU began offering the school's first doctoral degree, Doctor of Science in Emergency Management

“The admin at this college is very bad

Oct 10 2013Business - Management and Administration
The admin at this college is very bad. Ever time I had a question about how to take care of things outside of classwork I had to run all around the campus and still have unresolved issues and no one there seems to know how to fix problems and just push me off to someone else. I had to withdrawal for a semester and ask before i did if there would be any problem they said no and now they are billing me for a semester I have not recieved. Several of the teachers are no help and assign to much busy work that teachs nothing. Advisors don't know how to advise and tell me something different each time i see them and seem as if they don't want to waste time helping me.
Question?

The problem is not really the faculty, but rather the sullen, disrespectful, ignorant, and unmotivated students. Many are from "cajun" backgrounds, which means lazy and passive-aggressive. Some faculty members are good, but the administration is corrupt and idiotic. The buildings are in bad shape, save for the new library and CS department.Question?

Was I ever wrong, the faculty is very arrogant and seem like they never really know what they are talking about. Students are the same way, there is little to none school spirit here and if you don't have money then DON'T GO HERE because you won't fit in. This school is just down right embarrassing when it comes to academics.Question?

They waste money on frivolous things while allowingJun 12 2008UnknownThey waste money on frivolous things while allowing the classrooms and buildings to fall apart and cutting corners on funding for academics. The athletic programs are probably the biggest waste of money. Most of the instructors who make a career at ASU are about as lively and helpful as rocks, and there are never enough instructors or classrooms. Some people are nearly crucified for minor infractions while others are allowed to do as they please. The financial aid office is understaffed, and the few workers they do have are completely incompetent. Forms are lost, information is entered incorrectly... The courses are about as challenging as kindergarten. I've kept my GPA near a 4.0 with little effort. Don't expect much competition. Most students just take their C's and go on their merry way. The campus bookstore is a joke. You'll pay much more for your text, and it probably will NOT be the correct one. For this irritation, you'll stand in line for about 2 hours to buy them - another 2 hour to exchange them for the correct one. Parking is a nightmare and expensive. The campus cops are more interested in handing out parking fines than preventing any real crime, of which there IS plenty. Bottom line - there are much better universities for about the same cost or a little more. Go ANYWHERE but Arkansas State University.1

Speaking of ULL I was watching the science channel yesterday and saw two SBC schools involve in the shows about the bible. Someone (forgot their name) from GST was on for about 5 minutes but the class from ULL-L played a large role over a few hours. It was a engineering class taught by a guy name Chris I forgot his last name but he looked mid to late 30s with black hair. His class took on engineering projects from Ancient Rome and figuring out how the Egyptians worked on the pyramids .

You forgot to post the rankings from MTV and Nickelodeon because that is what your post amount to! US News, SACS and the Harvard Review are the most respected in Academia circles. But hey, let me get some of son's frat boys a couple of bottles of GREY GOOSE and ask them to rate their student experience at UL. Then I can come back to this forum and brag about how the students rank their experience at UL!

My bad, I didn't know you are the only one who can say who's opinion matters.

I never said ULL or Ark St were bad schools. There is just some much lack of confidence in SB schools it amazes me. Seems everyone wants to not be as bad as the worse school rather than better than the best.

The SB isn't going to be the home to a majority of state flagships. The make up is going to be new and lower funded FBS schools. May piss everybody off but it's reality.

When ranking academics, excuse me if I chose to refer to the respected sources or sites that have the historical credentials to rank universities nationally. And while students are welcome to express their experiences on specific college campuses, no one outside of your peers is reading those opinions as an actual guide on higher education. Again, you opened your mouth without giving the subject some research and made yourself look foolish. BTW, UL also has selective admissions.

No you looked like the fool trying to portray ULL as a great academic institution while it just a good school. Last I check the Ivy or Patroit league were not recruiting ULL for membership.

You told me to do some homework and dang if your school didn't rank lower. Never ask a question you don't know the answer to. Now go get the egg off your face.

UL may not be an Ivy League College, but its hardly a glorified community college like JSU with open admissions! The only thing you have proven is weed must be legal on the campus of JSU. Because you are either stoned or a idiot if you think you have proven anything!03-lmfao
