No doubt. This just goes to show you that some FCS schools can get up to par in a short time. So "we" should be less critical of and worried about adding a EKU and Mo State. One large facility upgrade plan can get most above average FCS programs to a respectable starting FBS level.
When the home side is upgraded it will be 100% legit FBS stadium. Only other major thing GS needs to address is a basketball facility. We have and are updating Hanner I believe but at some point we are just going to be putting lip stick on a pig. If we are going to legitimately consistently compete for conf championships a new facility is going to be needed.

That looks like black and white coloring, or am I colorblind?

Its a much darker blue than I think most of us thought GSU would get.

I will admit though, I love the way the individualized logos look for each school.

That logo has grown on me. I think it's pretty sharp looking, especially in blue and white.

How does it feel to see a different name and logo on the field after having the same one for so many years?

The graphic design color theory nerd in me is coming out right now, but you also have to remember that they are spraying that color on green grass which automatically means it's going to appear a few shades darker than it would have looked if they'd painted it on a flat white surface. Maybe next-time around they will order a color a few shades lighter to make up for the difference.

Someone can correct me, but I don't think we ever sported the SoCon logo on the field.

I think it depended on the administration? I'm looking now on google and I can see images where we had the socon AND GS logo on the field, just the GS logo, and some games where we didn't have anything.

Then what are your thought about the Sun Belt logo being on the field. That logo is a sign that GSU is no longer in the SoCon.

Absolutely Love It. That one picture Klak posted, with the logo and the upper deck in the background... just sums it up perfectly. It's amazing how far we've come with an administration that sees the benefit of strong athletics. It's an exciting time to be an Eagle, and I can't wait for the fall.

Football season will be an all new experience for Georgia Southern fans. New Conference, expanded stadium, and different teams on the schedule. Every game should be packed.

We hope. Two Thursday night games will deter a lot of our Atlanta alum from coming down, but hopefully the students make up for it. We also have a Saturday game thanksgiving weekend, which has always been a very poorly attended playoff game for us. Hopefully having it on the schedule from the get-go and not 6 days notice will help attendance that weekend.
