I think Troy has the bigger adjustment to make this year truthfully. USA's schedule is not as favorable as a few others, which is why I think some believe they may fall a bit.
Actually, not as big as you may think. A 6'7" Jr QB (only one w/ FB$ experience) that's been red-shirted, A 6'2" RS Frosh that's been gray-shirted, a la CRob...the QB from the NJCAA Championship team...and the QB from the 2nd place juco team. All the RBs are back...
Do you think any of those guys could ever equal Corey Robinson, who single handedly kept you in some games the last few years?
chiefsfan ... have you been under a rock the last 8 years? We haven't had less than top of the line QB play since 2005. We have never had a problem reloading at QB. Levi Brown (the guy before Corey) was better than Corey. Corey set records because he stayed longer. There was also Omar Haugabook and Jamie Hampton who lost very few SBC games.
Corey was not liked by a lot of Trojans because of his inability to escape sacks. Many feel that was a key competent in many close losses.
These four QBs are the best talent we've had at QB, ever, by a long shot. We bring back all of our RBs including Chunn who had 14 TDs as a freshman last year. We bring back 8 out of 10 on the O-Line including 4 of the 5 starters and added an Ole Miss Transfer who snagged a starting spot in the spring. We bring back most of our WRs and added a tremendous JUCO talent at #3 WR in Jarvis Bentley (6'5"). Top notch in spring. We bring back our OC. When you have all of those components it makes QB transitions much easier.
Dontreal Pruitt - 1st Team NJCAA All-American. Set the NJCAA record for total offense (610 yards per game). 51 TDs, 7 INTs (6 were running TDs). Won the NJCAA Title Game. Team finished 1st.
Connor Bravard - 67-2 record between High School and Junior College. QB for the #2 JUCO team in the country. His JUCO team was in the title game in 2012. (Georgia Military played in the title game in 2013, lost and fell to #3, allowing Bravard's team to move to #2).
Brandon Silvers - ESPN's #27 rated QB. That's a big deal. Dual Threat. Grayshirted. Then Redshirted. Will have 4 to play.
Dallas Tidwell - 6'7". Has been the back up behind Corey for two years. Has played very well in mop up duty. Threw a 40+ plus TD against Ole Miss late in the game (against 3rd and scout teams, but nonetheless).
Now if you want to say defense. Go ahead. I wont blame you. I have no idea what to expect. It's been five years since we've been good on defense.
