Pastner has made one thing clear in his time here...things are going to be done his way. That doesn't bother me. From that quote and other sources, it seems like this is exactly what happened here. Pookie wanted something...Pastner wanted something different. It sucks, but we'll be fine.

RE: Pookie Powell to transfer
So, he wanted to go train with Frank over the summer but had to back in time for summer semester to help with his academics.

Pookie didn't want to come back that early.... so he leaves.

Kinda lousy reason to go.

All you Pastner apologists are the same. Pookie was the recruiting gem that we needed, more important than any coach.

This is the second transfer in 5 years I wouldn't call that the program being unstable. Some of you really exaggerate things

I was thinking the same thing. Probably also thinks Memphis is the only city that has crime, bad politicians and hot, muggy weather in the summer.

That's all Pastner's fault too, why do we put up with it?

Why all the sarcasm? It's almost irrelevant which kid it is. It's just another head sctracher attached to the pastner regime. Doesn't even matter because pastner will get a pass anyway. Doesn't matter what happens, josh comes out smelling like freaking flowers in the spring. Teflon josh. Time to refresh the Kool aid and drink up folks.

Exactly. Ditch this guy, we are the only program in the country that has players transfer, even if we were recruiting over him. So what? Players come first, they win games, not coaches.

In the end, Pookie will land somewhere else and we'll get a chance to see how good he is or isn't. At that point we can decide if Coach Pastner made a mistake.

Reminds me of the people who groaned because Josh couldn't properly handle his 5 star recruit Jelan Kendrick and what a mistake it was to allow a kid that talented to get away. The truth as it turned out was that the coach knew what he was doing.

So, we'll see.

The worst fans are those who have no idea what's going on outside of their own program. Transfers happen to every team. Get over it.

Why does this story has to do with anything with giving or not giving josh a pass? You seem to already determined that josh may have done something wrong when we don't know what happen ---- that's not saying that josh didn't do anything wrong but we don't know the situation

We do know what happened. Pookie's father is a man with grossly misplaced priorities and after finding out what the conflict was, I'm glad to be rid of the helicopter parent that man obviously is.

Funny that I know what happened. I thought Jason Smith and John Martin tweeted out all things Roar gives people behind the paywall?
