to catch a connecting flight and who do I see but Tod Kowalczyk and the UT basketball team.

I spoke briefly with the coach, mostly to find out if Jay Lehman was going with them to Southern Mississippi. I knew Jay when I was a student back in the late 70's-early 80's but haven't seen him in more than 30 years (he could have been sitting right there and I might not have recognized him. He also might not remember me). Anyway, coach Kowalczyk told me that Jay hadn't made the trip. While I was on the road I didn't get to listen to the game, so I don't know who did the game with Mark Beier.

Anyway, seeing the team was the highlight of my trip. Would have been even better if I'd had a chance to talk with Jay.

Mark Beier was solo on the air for the game.

He's been solo for a couple away games this year - I think he was by himself at Kansas, too.
