Maybe a 3 seed instead of Creighton?
Syracuse had the same record but with wins over Duke, Villanova, North Carolina.
Louisville has 3 wins over UConn and a win over Cincy.
Creighton beat Villanova twice.
Duke beat Syracuse, Michigan, UCLA, Pitt, North Carolina, Virginia
Iowa State won the Big 12 tourney and has wins over Michigan, OK State, Oklahoma, Baylor and Kansas.
Neither Louise nor UVA were great in the non conference- but in conference UVA beat NC, Pitt, Syracuse, Pitt and Duke.
Can nitpick- but Louise is about where they should be.
I agree 100%. They were probably the top 4 seed, and I thought they should have been one of the last two 3 seeds. I think they should replace Syracuse instead of Creighton, only because I think how teams finish, regardless of how much they say it doesn't matter, really does matter. Syracuse lost 5 of last 7, including two really bad losses

Unfortunately, the only viable venue in the immediate area is the FEF ... and that is off limits. Duke is fortunate in that they have nearby venues that can accomodate the tournament. It is what it is.

I hope you are right, but to play the second weekend you have to play defense and not turn the ball over.

Not in this case. The president put his junk out there, and Katz performed a round-house kick straight to the gonads.
I dont think the guy was really prepared for how much push-back he got from Katz. It wasn't a cheap shot by any means. I don't think he was expecting a point-counter point debate from Katz on consistency. He was pretty ill-prepared for that, which is weird, because that's normally the type of questions the president will address right after the selection.

I think our whole conference was underseeded by 1 seed and SMU should have been in over BYU, Dayton and NC State.

Wellman kept referring to the other #4 seeds when asked about Louisville. I never really processed how the other #4 seeds justified Louisville being one as well. It might have been the Seagram's.

I'm not sure your understanding if a fair fight is consistent with the rest of the world.
Gladiators, maybe, or in a Viking wall, but typically punching somebody in the balls is a cheap shot.
Katz did not throw a cheap shot. It was a fair and necessary question.

So evidently RPI, SOS and top 100 wins account for 3 seeds. This year is pretty bad as far as seeding goes.
Looks like the rpi is used more than everyone says it is. Check UMass out

JP needs to get these below 150 teams OOC teams off the schedule. It cost us 2/3 levels of seeding. Our record versus top 50 is good, but too many bottom feeders.

^This. With everything else being the same, we replace 3-4 of those horrid RPI "buy" games with *slightly less* horrid RPI "buy" games, we're probably looking @ a '6'.

Yep, not a cheap shot at all. Maybe I should have said that Katz castrated the committee president instead.

Only when they want it to be. It's a way to justify keeping a team in or moving a team up but only if it's in the master plan.
