LOL. Bobby Knight managed to do better at a football school that Mick Cronin has been able to do a bball school. If Cincy doesn't pull a choke job this year, ole Mick might get the cats to their 2nd Sweet during his tenure.

Bobby Knight at Tech was 138-82=.627 overall & 53-49=.520 in the Big 12. 4 NCAA appearances, a sweet 16 and NIT Semi-Final
Mick Cronin at Cincy is( not including his 8th season) 135-100=.575 overall & 57-67=.460 in the Big Easy.01-ncaabbs 3 NCAA tourney appearances, a sweet 16, 1 NIT bid and 1 CBI bid.

Cincy fans don't have to worry about us "stealing" one of their coaches. We typically want a coach with P5 experience. In fact, we "send" our losers off to schools who reside in G5 conferences. 04-cheers

Stick to football son. You have no idea what you are talking about. If you actually think 13-13 is working miracles in any conference, that just shows how bad your program really is. Tech's basketball program doesn't even belong in the same continent as UCs.

Keep hiring those washed up coaches though. You will be hitting your ceiling of actually making the NCAA's every few years before too long.

Your program is a joke compared to UC hoops. If you want me to list some stats to really drive the point home, let me know, I will. Considering what Pat Knight and Billy Gillespie did the program, Tubby Smith is working miracles. One washed up coach(Bobby Knight) at Tech has had about the same success as the "in his prime" guy at cincy. LOL

That being said, our former washed up coach has accomplished the same thing as Mick Cronin has the past 7 years. Zero, zip zilch nada.

Maybe cincy should stick to begging P5 conferences for invites since a 1992 final four and 2 BCS bowl beat downs are about the ceiling for your program.

Cronin took a program that was left for dead after the Huggins fiasco and rebuilt it, doing it in what was the toughest basketball conference in the nation, and considered by some, toughest basketball conference ever. He just got us back to ncaa level three years ago. You can say what you want about the AAC, it's no Big East, but we should get five teams in and beside that, your team wouldn't finish within 15 of UC right now, it would be a massacre.

And nice job bragging about Knight...he's long gone. And despite it all, your program has never done squat. If all of your basketball bragging is centered around a sweet sixteen appearance or elite 8, that's a joke in itself.

The funny thing is you call yourself a football school yet zero BCS games, conference championships. You hang your hat on the fact that Texas allows a team from the scrubland in the Big 12. You want to talk about recent history, I just checked the polls about a second ago and we were ranked number 7. Did Bob Knight do that? Right now our conference is projected to get 5 NCAA bids. I think the Big 12 will get 5. In football our representative crushed your team in the BCS bowl. Even your argument of superiority through proximity lacks merit.

BTW Tubby Smith is total class. Would like to see him at a different institution.

Tubby has been pure class and the fan base is finally excited again. I'm excited because I get to see my Red Raiders in person on Saturday in Stillwater, OK.

Texas chooses to have a conference relationship with Texas Tech because they see the value that we add in Texas and the Big 12. They realize Bball means squat in conference re-alignment and that football reigns supreme in the State of Texas. Let me know when Ohio St values cincy in anything other than a rare OOC game?

If basketball meant so much, Kansas would not have been on the outside looking in during the 2010 realignment saga.

So take that #7 ranking and go cry to someone who cares because it certainly isn't a P5 conference or our fans.

Guess Cincinnati will have the last laugh when Texas Tech takes Their place in the AAC in the next realignment round and the Big12 breaks up.

Bobby Knight is the greatest coach of all time (although I'll forgive you if you argue in favor of John Wooden). And yet he barely managed a winning conference record at Texas Tech. If Tech had half the draw to recruits that Butler or Wichita State does, Knight would have taken you to a Final Four.

Consider this: Knight had a much better record at Army (.671 winning %) than he did at Texas Tech (.627). Ouch.

RE: Hot Seat, Tubby Smith Texas Tech
Texas Tech zero Elite Eight appearances in basketball, zero top-10 finishes in football, and zero major bowl appearances. I know those are tough metrics to judge you on, and it's not fair to hold you to the same standards as powerhouses like Tulane and Wyoming (who have done all three).

How does a "football school" manage to go 67 years without winning their conference? Texas Tech hasn't won a conference title in football since 1955 when they were battling mighty Hardin-Simmons in the Border Conference.

But hey, they're in Texas! Hot recruiting territory! Never mind that there's only 5 players on the team who grew up within 200 miles of Lubbock. Lubbock is so exciting that every adult male within two hours comes in to the "big city" 7 times a year to watch a mediocre football team.

On the bright side, Tech did win the 2012 NCAA national title in women's rodeo. Jolly good, mate.

Besides Hardin Simmons, Arizona and Arizona St also played in the Border Conference. Yes, we haven't won an outright conference title since the 50's but we have shared a few conference titles since then. Tech doesn't play cincy or the sisters of the poor in conference so its a little tougher to win an outright conference title.

Now that we got rid of one of the worst coaches in our history, I have no doubt that Kliff will fix that problem. That being said, no matter how many insults you throw, cincy will always be on the outside looking in. No one wants you, no one needs you and the biggest school in your state won't give you the time of day unless its a warm up game to prepare them for tougher competition.

Enjoy the aac. You guys belong there.

You could have played one of the sisters of the Poor UCF, and they would have blown you out. How bad did Baylor beat you (63-34) this year. You are in a big money conference and that is it. No history today; no history ever. enjoy. Cincinnati has basketball to look forward too. You have nothing.
