He had 8 picks, 20 pass broken up, 155 tackles, 8 TFL's and only missed one start. I saw the game he got hurt at Toler it was nasty.

We will win when we cut down the turnovers and penalties. More to do with the QB and coaching then Lewis Toler or Jaime Wilson. The only thing WMU had was a good WR and good corners last year. And those come back.

I might be the only one, but I'm not all that concerned by Wilson's departure. I like the Broncos receiving corps still.

The list is longer than that but losing talent is never good.

Wait. Recruiting it is HUGE. Losing it doesn't matter? 03-idea

True...there are a lot of other things...but those two things are a good place to start. Losing talent isn't good, but it doesn't sound like his recovery is going all that well. Everyone's assumption is that he would return to form. That may or may not be the case.

Wilson leaving the program hurts much less than losing someone with that kind of positional prowess from say the OL or DL. Wideout is a position of strength for this team... losing one of the high profile guys still leaves us with a pretty full boat. See what I did there... full boat...

People keep saying strength...our wideouts sucked last year. Sure they have all the potential in the world but they are unproven as any other sector on offense. Braverman didn't impress his true frosh season, now coming off and ACL you never know what he will be like. Keith didn't impress at all last year after tearing ACL. Roberts improved and that was a good sign by the end of the year. The incoming frosh have potential but thats it. We lost our best two WR's from the 2012 season in Wilson and Collins for two years in a row.

But every freshman wide out is going to be the MAC freshman of the year. right? right?

Good gawd you guys... its a freaking funeral on this board sometimes.... and over what? Losing ONE player? Davis is coming back, Keith and Braverman have a full off season to come back to full strength. And YES, we do have some pretty good wideout prospects coming on board... Didn't see Davis coming last year.... then BAM! I guess I just have a better feeling about the future of this program than most... oh well.

All I am trying to say is that losing your best player is never a good thing. Obviously someone is going to have to step up, but there is no denying we were better with Wilson.

Let me ask this question. Wilson was playing with Alex Carder and a much better TVT under Cubit throwing the balls around. Davis came in and performed to MAC FOTY standards with two highly under-performing QB's throughout the year... (IMO). Do you think that based on the recent injury recovery, distractions by family and an unknown QB situation that Wilson would play anywhere near his freshman year? Honest question.

No offense, but is that a good thing or a bad thing at this point? They've spent the last decade kicking our tails and winning MAC titles. While we hang our hats on the fact that we don't live in a cornfield. While I think their coach might suck worse than ours, I'd take their more recent success over us and in the conference any day. Just saying.

I wouldn't take anything if it had CMU on it... Id rather root for WMU in a loss then be a CMU fan... EVER. I think that's the point of the original post.

Maybe so, but I LONG for the day when we can say that we actually dominated the league for 4 or 5 years. Or even less than that, when we can say we actually won the MACC just once.

Yeah, we'd all like a MACC, but if I have to be a chip to make that happen, then I'll pass. I'd rather spend a long weekend in Chicago with Michael Sam.

Davis was literally the only guy they threw to or looked at most of the season. Our formations this year were mostly 1 or 2 wideouts. Under Cubit we were 4 to 5 wide most of the time. Wilson is a stud. I have no idea what his numbers could be because I have no idea what offense this new staff is going to run. I can tell you he has more talent and more of chance at those number than anybody else on our team.
