It was awesome, first time I see it!

I saw last year at a football game, thanks to Smitty, a great host. It's funny and cool as hell at the same time. It has to throw visiting teams and fans for loop if they don't know about it for few seconds, just hearing that song blasting. It is awesome.

I don't know that I've seen any other nationally-televised university using the ice cream and cake, so I hope it genuinely becomes our "thing". In a realm of college crowds that take themselves to seriously, it's cool to see crowds at ODU embody this neat little piece of social commentary.

Man that was almost as crazy as the 1996 WKU game where Gene came after the ODU fans.

Would like to play that game with Ross and Aaron, maybe could of been a little closer. If that 3 of Anton dropped instead of rattling out, I think the roof would of lifted.

Good game UTEP and nice showing by your fans.

If that Anton's 3 had dropped...that would have been something special. I've been pulling for the guy through all the apathy (and some of it mine). Great showing by UTEP, clearly our guys have a ways to go yet.

I can't find the clip quickly but hopefully another ODU poster can provide it. The best in the Ice Cream and Cake saga was when we hosted the Women's first round NCAA tournament a few years ago. We played UVA. The NCAA gestapo doesn't allow teams to play any of their own music. There was a large contingent of ODU fans in the upper Northeast section. As if a conductor waved a baton...the entire section in unison sang and
performed Ice Cream and Cake. Became a YouTube sensation....it was stupendous!

ODU is going to a favorite of mine in the new C-USA. Just a great addition for the conference. It's great to see a passionate fanbase.

That was the funny part, they don't drink or smoke, but they do cuss.

As much fun as the ice-cream-and-cake tradition is, there were a couple of us who thought it might be best to keep that part of our program quiet during the CUSA vetting process -- for fear you guys would reject us on grounds of weirdness.

ODU has (in my opinion) far and away the nicest basketball venue in C-USA. Anyone who has an opportunity to see "The Ted" absolutely needs to.

dancing to "ice cream and cake" really isn't any sillier than shouting "to the top" in the middle of the fight song, and at seemingly random (to outsiders) times during the game. I have to explain it every time I take an outlander to a game.
