Hell yes. Go Broncos!
Around the league...
Denver's up 2-1 on St. Cloud State in the 3rd (good thing)
Nebraska-Omaha's up 4-3 on North Dakota in the 2nd intermission (good thing)
Minnesota-Duluth is up on Colorado College 1-0 at the start of the 3rd (not good, but least important game to us standings-wise)

I watched that. Not sure how it happened. Penn State's goaltender was so far out of position so often in that game. PSU is a program on the rise, but they just looked terrible every time I watched that game.
Michigan just looked worse

Wow, if CC can get it going and those other games hold, could make for a real fun time the last few weeks. Logjam at the top. Woo hoo!!

Right now, with those 3 other games going on, 10 points separate 6th from 7th. 3 points separate 6th from 1st.
Here we go. This is the NCHC everyone was expecting.

UNO 6 - NoDak 3 (3 min left). Josh Archibald had 3 straight goals for the Mavericks before their 6th goal. He's a gamer to watch in 2 weeks
SCSU 4 - Denver 2. Strong 3rd buried the Pioneers
UMD 2 - CC 1. The fact CC even got 1 point this weekend should be a good thing for us.

Should be something like this (barring a NoDak furious comeback):
1. St. Cloud State (30 pts)
2. Minny-Duluth (28 pts)
t3. NoDak (27 pts)
t3. Nebraska-Omaha (27)
t5. Western Michigan (26 pts)
t5. Denver (26)
t7. Colorado College (14 pts)
t7. Miami (14)
8 games left to play for each team.
The two bottom teams are probably just battling between themselves now. 4 full games back is just too far to make up this late in the season. Still wouldn't want to draw Miami, but if you are the 1 or 2 team, you're sitting pretty heading into the NCHC Quarters

I know you don't want to hear this, but Notre Dame won tonight after being down 2-1 late against Maine. Brian Rust scored two goals 22 seconds apart. We won't jump them in the Pairwise (probably). Next weekend shouldn't be too much help either playing Colorado College (except in the conference standings [hopefully])

Those early season deals are putting us in a win the playoffs mode already.

Now that conference play is in full swing and UofM can't play cupcake teams, they are racking up some losses to the level above cupcake.
Anyways, we need to turn this thread back to WMU. They got the sweep vs Miami that was needed. If they really think they can win this and go to the NCAA Tournament, they need to play CC tough. The standings are crazy right now. Duluth and North Dakota scare me the most but I don't see a huge difference between WMU and the other teams in the pack. WMU has the second best overall record. Let's see if they can carry this for the rest of the season.
