Mick said that SK was sick and didn't practice yesterday. As Rath mentioned during the game, he didn't look quite right out there. He also compared Shaq to the car that he drove in college - too many miles. Stated that we really need Lawrence back.

USF is not a bad team. They took down SMU last week. They have been playing better lately.

Too bad we were so cold from outside, otherwise the game would have been more comfortable.

I'll take the win.

They played putrid today. The shooting from Kilpatrick, Rubles and Thomas can't be that bad and us expect to win. Having said that, I'm chalking it up to a hangover from the Thursday night game.
I think they'll be ready for UConn.

They missed a lot of chippies around the basket today, too. A win is a win is a win.

RE: USF Game Thread
Despite not being a good team USF is an awful matchup for us. Their 2-3 zone really slowed the pace of the game and their freshman big guys have the size to frustrate JJ and Titus. Would have been nice to land Perry.

That said we missed a lot of open shots, if we shoot better we blow them out.

The missed layups had me pulling my hair out, I will admit.

This was winning when you play bad. Better than the alternative.

Horrible day shooting the ball, but in crunch time he put on his big boy pants and slung the team on his back as usual.

Think it was JJ he compared the car to. Shaq doesn't exactly log a ton of minutes.

USF seems to give UC fits. I'm glad they got the win. There will be days like this.

It's a bad matchup. They're big and they make it ugly. Against a team like that you just get the win and get out.

If you want to win a conference, have to get it done in games like these. SK has been the closer the last few games.

I was at the game & would have lit up this board but I left my phone in the car. SK was driving me nuts with forcing drives to the basket & losing the ball. Led to at least 2 Bulls baskets. Just as I was crabbing about that to the guy next to me, he slices to the basket for a layup & takes over the end of the game. He's a microcosm of the team - alternately maddening & inspiring....awkward yet tough as nails in the clutch. He needs to pick his spots - definitely does not have the handle to consistently weave through traffic, but can finish when a hole opens.

Amen. If we draw them in the tourney that would be agonizing.

With a healthy Lawrence, it would be a lot better. When they play those two big's inside it's hard for UC to match up with them without Lawrence.

The Cats have struggled this year against teams with 2 decent bigs.

I equate the USF games with the Miami OH games of old. Frankly I'm excited they even scored 50.

21-2. Holy crap.

With this roster what these guys and coaches have accomplished is nothing short of amazing.

RE: USF Game Thread
Not surprised at all that we struggled a little today. Bad match up, lack of inside depth for us and the physical and emotional hangover of the UofL game. Bottom line we got the win. That's all that matters. Hopefully they get a little rest before Thursday.
