Them grabbing 9 offensive rebounds on their first 11 misses in the second half more sealed our fate.

we still had a shot until josh plugged in the 4 guards towards the end. why the hell was nichols not on the floor? nichols and pellom > than shaq and 4 guards.

Plus they simply pushed CC and the likes where ever they wanted to. CC had excellent front position downlow to rebound at the defensive end but stood straight up and got rooted out..... nevere attempted to spread low.

4Gs settled for long jumpers in the 2nd half which unlike the 1st half, didnt fall. Meanwhile, when they did feed the bigs good things happened.

hopefully he will have realized by then that nichols is the better big guy.

Not to mention the D was pourous ALL night.

Uconn guards continued to attack the hoop all game whereas the 4Gs who shot 5/8 from 3 in the 1st half, hit only 2 of 9 in the 2nd.

Like I've been saying, this team will NOT live by the 3. FACT

Uconn finished 7/7 from the field and 6/6 from the freethrow line.

When Dixon and Geron picked up their 4th fouls I thought to myself, 'Finally we will see three bigs on the floor'..... next thing I knew, UCONN goes on an 8-1 run, and then I count heads and I see Dixon and Geron were on the floor, along with Joe and Chris.

This loss will be worth it if it kills the 4-guard idea for good. It just does not work with this group (AT ALL!!!!).

And the run was basically UCONN slashing to the rim and laying it up.

It is what it is...I have resigned myself to the fact that not only will we be stuck with a 3 guard lineup (a short 3 guard lineup at that), we'll also see the 4 guard lineup almost every game. While the 4 guard lineup may produce results at times, it is fool's gold. At this point, I can only hope for decent matchups in the tournament coz anytime we play teams with any size, we are probably screwed. Most good teams will have a pretty good SF that is 6'6 or taller.

Not a chance. Instead we saw CC playing the 3 most of the time which he was exposed defensively bad as uconn's SF backed CC down with the greatest of ease and scored at the hoop. There was virtually no resistance from Chris.

He's not a 3.... doesn't have the mentality to play tough at the 3 so using him their is pointless.

On to the next one. Uconn looked past us and for good reasons....

I'm beginning to think that we're just not as good as we all think we are. We're a horrible shooting team, basically a streak shooting team, with ok big's. Defense is highly questionable and so far we're not consistent at anything. I guess the next two weeks will proof out one way or another.

No defense sealed fate not a lineup. UCONN was over 50% most of the game so the lineup did not really make a difference

Not to mention during this time Shaq looked lost on defense. I understand Nichols coming out because he struggled to box out all night. My main qualm is we should have called a timeout about two possessions sooner.

Yep, and what the issue was about Dixon and Geron on there, were that they had FOUR fouls and weren't aggressive on D. Napier and Kumho took advantage three times in a row, which changed the game.

Austin came in , hit a shot, and went right back out. smh
