we don't have a football coach after this weekend. Just call it a gut feeling. I really don't think we will have anyone named before Saturday.

As long as they are named Bill Clark we will be fine.

i am hoping things start to happen tomorrow and we can name someone by Friday

Clark's name has disappeared the last couple of days. i am not sure if that is good or bad.

Actually besides Clark, Roberts or Jenkins would also be good options.

I hope Mackin gets a phone call into Derek Mason, DC at Stanford too. Vandy is interviewing Brian Schottenheimer (sp)

Great coach, but we could not afford him.

Remember Mcgee wasn't on our radar and was kept secret. We knew McGee had interest in and from FAU back b4 we got him. Wasn't anywhere close to who we were expecting Mackin to hire. Im sure some names may be kept quiet in order to maintain their job security if they don't want the job or interviewed and didn't get the job.

I'm hoping our new coach will be introduced at halftime of the UTEP game on Saturday.

Interviews are tomorrow and Friday, so that would be pushing it. Somebody might be named, but I bet if they are, they will be on the road recruiting or trying to put their staff together.

The smoke screen is thick again. Expect the name you are not hearing to be named Head Coach. We now have our Minority candidate. I'm not saying he does not have a chance, but I think the names that have been released, were released for a reason. I think Mackin is taking his time but we'll know more next week. The offer should be made on Monday, and an announcement will probably come Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

If Neal had planned to fly in today, according to the article, chances are he wouldn't have interviewed until tomorrow, which means you are probably right.

Plus Mackin has to get the approval of the BOT before he can be publicly named. Remember it wasn't Mackin who announced the hiring of MCGee, it was Petrino,and I suspected it was premature before Mackin wanted it announced.

I look at it as shooting high.

Maybe Mason would embrace our academics.

My thoughts are they'll take the weekend to decide who they want based on the interviews held this week & announce early next week if one of them is approved else it's on to Group B

As always, the cb is spot on. Unfortunately, it appears the Bethune-Cookman coach has been mentioned publicly because of his melanin level. He seems like a very good candidate and is A PROVEN WINNER, but the public mention makes me think it's not him.

I feel like the FCS winner is the way to go this time. Gran doesn't move the needle at all for me. By the end of the search we will all be like

I tend to agree with the "under the radar" candidate, the one you're not hearing about, being the choice. Mackin has done well at keeping the process under wraps on the last two major hires. I doubt that changes unless there's a leak.

Precisely...which leads me to believe it was going to be Clark the whole time until the "source" blew it up. Now you have the damage control, with Clark speaking out to The Anniston Star and the tweet about his "lack of contact" with UAB. We need to find out who Deep Throat is. Perhaps it was the Schnauzer?
