This is from a Western person.

Could have been true or message board urban legend. Petrino and the DC bought homes. Not sure on the others though.

Watch Louisville announce this only to see him take the Atlanta Falcons job again midseason next year.

Opinion........a man who will cheat on his family will cheat on football field........no morals or values. U of L cannot be that desperate. As Coach Ruff (ECU) says, "we want players with character........not characters".......same scale should apply for selection a head coach.

True. I know for Arkansas state we've hire some sort of character guys but not committed! I believe Brohm can and will win as do I believe Arkansas state new coach will. Although I'm more excited with the addition of Walt bell.

I doubt you could structure such a clause in football anymore...not without a buyout in it that the new school would certainly pay.

Yes, a home and home with the team that he goes to is in the contract. There is no buy-out for those games. I'm sure we would listen if UL wanted to pay though.

Of course, all the rumors today could be typical twitter misdirection.

that's supposedly the hangup right now. jurich refuses to play in bg. offered nashville. western said no. low-balled 300k early. western said no. bobby prolly gonna put the pressure on to western to come down on buyout.

western was the first school (afaik) to put the h&h language in coach contracts.

we had south carolina play here due to horn and had georgia here twice due to felton in hoops. we just played ole miss at home in hoops because we had the clause in our ad's contract when ole miss hired him.

i don't know how one can say they're unenforceable if a team really wants a guy.  they've worked 3 times in hoops. either play 'em or pay 'em and not 300k chump change.

If it does end up with Petrino going to UL, I hope y'all rake them over the coals with the buyout and the home game. They'll come off that money and home game to get him back as long as the big money guys are behind it.

Could've been difference in getting into CUSA. It showed we were committed to putting $$ into program and better perception.

western got more press out of hiring petrino than anything they've ever done on the field or court.

full blown espn for several days and by far the majority was positive. how do you measure that monentarily?

he was well behaved all year. we had our best record in fbs at 8-4. at the moment we have a nice class coming in. if we do get brohm we should keep most of the class intact and the offense should remain similar.

if....it works out that way.

every game we had on tv had plenty of mentions of petrino in a positive light. the motorcycle incident was never mentioned during games.

i don't know if it qualified as rainmaking but western suffered no damage in my opinion. a lot of the asu folks had a lot of hatred which was interesting since they interviewed him first. but after he signed with us they never really wanted him to begin with. lol.

Beed:

Are you hearing that they will get past the H&H and go ahead and hire him? I had heard buyout would be 1.5M which would make sense if they want to buyout game for 300k (+1.2M).

WKU may use it to renew bball series...

just what i said earlier: that's supposedly the hangup right now. jurich refuses to play in bg. offered nashville. western said no. low-balled 300k early. western said no. bobby prolly gonna put the pressure on to western to come down on buyout.

i'd say the deal will get done. we'll see how hardcore our ad and prez are. imo jurich wants bobby. they're still friends. he knows what he's getting with petrino and an up and comer oc or dc is never a guarantee win as a hire.

my guess western backs off enough to make the deal. i just hope we get brohm out of it.

Who will be WKU's Coach Entering 1st Season in CUSA?
I would say 95% chance its Jeff Brohm......However there are some concerns BP will take him to UofL as his OC..We will see, but I expect by Friday WKU will name Brohm their first coach entering CUSA next season...

If some small chance its not Brohm, I think we take a look at Jason Michaels, Houston Nutt, and Romeo Crennell...

Romeo Crennel? You think he'd take WKU over Texans DC?

Probably not but he's a WKU Alum and former Defensive Line Coach at WKU.

Jeff Brohm was brilliant to leave UAB for WKU because he probably would not have been looking at a promotion under Mcgee to head coach but since he was the Assistant head coach under a guy that moves around a lot he will be given the WKU job.

RE: Petrino to UofL Again
I like Brohm myself. FAU gave him a job as QB coach after he left Louisville and I had high hopes that Schnellenberger was going to groom him as HC in waiting. But he left of a p5 gig.

I hope the H&H sticks or you get a boatload of money.
