DC has been retained, and Brian Wright has been asked to stay as the OC.

like i said on The Nest...

I hope he takes it, this is win-win. the players that loved Wright get to keep him, the fans that wanted Wright get to keep him, and we get Partridge, hope he accepts and now lets see what they can do. I am happy with this!

If Wright stays on as OC, its like having cake on top of your cake.

Basically FAU would be getting one of the best Florida recrutiers around, while keeping both the DC and OC so from a continuity standpoint there is little to no learning curve.

#CUSAChampionship possible next year? It could be if Wright accepts.

Don't think Wright is a very good offensive mind so I can really care less if he leaves. You guys seem to like mediocre and vanilla offense with little imagination and bad fundamentals all around.

If you call the hurry up, zone read, spread option offense, with the usage of trick plays a vanilla offense with little imagination, then I'd love to know what you would call an interesting offense. And I pray to God you don't say pro style.

If the mediocre and vanilla offense wins games, I could care less. Plus he is under a new leader of Partridge. If th team is behind him and happy, then that is a good thing to have.

There is a difference between having a certain system and coaching it well. He can call his offense what he wants but the way he runs it isnt good coaching to me. Hopefully he improves a lot if he stays because I wasnt impressed at all.

3 of the 4 wins were against bottom 5 teams in FBS and they looked like crap against FIU on offense. I doubt his superior coaching did much in 2 days for Tulane. Again, I think he is overrated by most of you guys just desperate for wins.

I can see it all now...The nickname for the defense..."The Partridge Family!" Seriously, I hope the hire works out great for FAU, & that someone rings your AD's phone for a bowl invite somewhere!! #HootDat!?

While I agree that our three wins over the bottom three teams in the nation were nothing special, I was impressed with how much we beat those teams. An average team would be those squads by 14, not 40+.

I think Wright has the offense moving in the right direction. Most of the offensive problems were gone once Pelini left. For example, a predictable offense, clock management issues, overly aggressive/risky passes that could cause turnovers.

I dont see how you could be happy with that effort vs FIU. FAU let them hang around for the majority of the game and the reason they hung around was the horrible offense and inept playcalling. FAU kept running it right up the middle when FIU has a good set of DT's. That was their one strength and WRight was too dumb to implement a game plan to expose their D as a whole. Instead we got 7 plays of called runs up the middle on one drive. IT was pathetic coaching and performance by his O.

That game is what made me hesitant on Wright. The other 3 (especially Tulane) showed a wide open offense. The only thing I can think of is that he went conservative because of the importance of the game. (Shula Bowl, and Bowl Eligiblity on the line)

I certainly hope he stays as I think he will be a good coach and a good OC.

FAU hired coach Partridge-but for some reason I never saw a thread about it.Either I missed the thread or hiring a new football coach is no big deal to FAU fans.Sorry I guess MATRIX and I could not find it.
