Sounds as if Temple is a heck of a lot closer to being good than would have ever imagined.

The records never tell the whole story, but it is generally all that casual observers have to use to evaluate a team. Georgia State was 0-12, but was a better team than last season and "improved" throughout the course of this season.

Key has always been to find the right coach who can sell the vision to an administration, a community, the donors, and (critically) the recruits. I think we have part of that in place at GSU, now, and I suspect Temple does as well. Urban schools have different issues than suburban schools, namely land (or access to it), to build an OCS. Playing in a non-OCS presents different challenges as well.

Could be worse: we could still be wishing we had football instead of the the opportunities to ***** and moan about how bad it is right now and waiting for it to get better. Rather be 0-12 than 0-0.

Even though JHG is an idiot, his post is spot on. Temple goal line defense is on par with Alabama's. We couldn't score on it, Louisville with Bridgewater couldn't score on it, UCF with Bortles couldn't score on it and even Notre Dame couldn't score on it.

Very much so. We also just picked up another major recruit, this one on defense. He had offers from many top programs, including over half of the ACC, nearly half of the B10, 2 SEC, 2 Big 12, and 1 Pac 12.
