Couldn't agree more we can't beat Akron, way too many games we didn't finish. OU will not represent MAC well.

Perhaps Toledo was invited and has declined? It does seem odd that Ohio would get a bowl bid over Toledo...

Well maybe this can be a source of drive, determination and, dare I say it, toughness for the coaching staff and returning players for next season. Remember this feeling. Remember what it was like watching Buffalo almost evaporate a 31-point lead. Remember what it felt like giving up a 99-yard drive to Northern that became the turning point of that loss. Remember the emptiness representing no bowl game that came with the loss to Akron. THIS is what can make a team "Toledo Tough" for next season. Some of the pieces return. But it will take hard work. The Rockets seldom played a complete game for 4 full quarters this season. Believe me, I would love to be celebrating a MAC Championship with all of you this time next year...do the coaching staff and players? You have to really want it, and continue to work hard in this off-season, and the spring, and then come into next season with a mindset that you really will be "Toledo Tough" this time out.

That sucks. For those "fans" rooting for the team to be left out in the cold congratulations. I'm sure the team couldn't use an extra couple weeks of practice and another game of experience to roll into next season.

So sorry Toledo is not going Bowling.
That Akron loss really hurt.
Could have used Toledo's advice against BGSU.
Sorry we lost.
I defense really could not match well with their passing game.
Strange how we beat and lose to teams versus other MAC teams.
You had a far stronger MAC SChedule then Ohio.
Hopefully everything is for the best.
Remember in 2003, You dominated a very good Penn State team at Penn State, beat a ranked NIU and never went Bowling.

Please vote for Jordan Lynch two more times and help the MAC have a Heisman finalist.

Not sure how set this team was mentally or physically for a bowl game...was Flu healthy and ready to go? Haven't heard...if not, what kind of shape is Hunt in? For that matter, Owens was battling a hip pointer in the second half against Akron...I'm not trying to speculate, but I'm not sure that a bowl game for an emotionally disappointed Toledo team & staff that may have had to rely on Woodside at QB and Remy at tailback against either a very tough Boise State in Idaho or an equally tough East Carolina in St. Pete would really have learned that much more than they will in Spring ball. Next season starts anew. No Lynch or Wenning. I will lower my expectations a bit, and then maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. As I wrote above, this perceived slight against the Rockets could turn into the most important source of motivation that they've had in quite awhile.

Toledo was and is our arch rival. From your Non-rivals wishing you good luck. You have a great recruiting class, and should have a better team next year.

Mixed feelings about all of this. This program has to start fresh, heal up, getting stronger and hungrier in 2014.

I don't know, I rather have something tangible to build off of like practice and playing, not a perceived slight. I hate to see this program in the position where it's passed over for bowls by OU and Buffalo.

I agree with you about being passed over, but I'm even more upset about the fact that we've let Ball State take over second place in the Division 2 years in a row now.

Toledo deserved a Bowl game. Lost to two top 25 ranked teams.
LOst to top 30 BSU.
Beat 10-3 BGSU (MAC Champions).

No five loss MAC team "deserves" a bowl bid - especially one that lost to Akron to close it's season.

Hopefully they all take it as their form of "tackling fuel" and use it to be better in 2014.

Bull. They had longer to recover than usual. A rollover is a rollover.

Didn't we just say the same thing?

Upon further review.... Yeah, sorry. Defenses high. Dissapointed in the season.

OU has 5 losses, including being blown out by Louisville, BG, Buffalo, & Kent St. Kent St by the way was 4-8 and that game was at OU.
