Introduce Yourself Here
Very glad to have discovered this forum, not much out there for huskie fans. Went to NIU 2000-2005 (loved it so much I decided to stay an extra year) my favorite year was 2003 was there for every game and they were always sold out . Looking forward to being active here!

Go NIU!

NIU grad class of 2010 (went BACK to school....career changer) but have been following NIU football since the beginning of the Novak era. PE teacher in District #300, Carpentersville, IL, position coach WRs and DBs for Niles North HS. Lover of the game of football but I coach 4 other sports as well. I follow Illinois and ISU also (Only because of family alumni of those schools). Originally from Kansas City, MO and moved to Chicago. NIU Huskies supporter and glad to be here!

Hi. I attended NIU in '94-'95 where I met my wife of 14+ years. We love the school, the campus, the people & the Huskies!!! We live an hour away & still visit DeKalb occasionally. We're obviously grooming all 3 of our kids to love NIU too & hope they become students (and graduates) there someday as well.

RE: Introduce Yourself Here
Hi, fellow Huskie fans and alums,

I discovered this board a few months ago and have been lurking through the ups and downs.

I am a Huskie alumna, Class of Before Most of You Were Born.

Actually, I graduated in 73. I am no relation to Huskie73--his registering that username the same time as I did is strictly one of those, "Whoa!" coincidences. Of course, as Dr. Sheldon Cooper knows, 73 is the best number.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIYMmbHik08

I attended NIU when the great Jerry Z played basketball, the high-rise dorms still smelled like new carpet, and The Village Commons was an empty lot.

I met my Southern-California-born-and-raised husband shortly after graduation, married him a few years later, moved to Southern California, and have lived here ever since.

I have two nieces, two cousins, and a cousin-in-law who also are NIU alums, and my two brothers still live in the Chicago area.

I love the Internet because it let me follow the Huskies before they were nationally ranked, and I'm really excited to be able to keep up with the NIU news with people who are equally as excited and supportive of the Huskies as I am.

Welcome and we're glad that you found us. FYI, I also graduated in 1973... BA School of Business... Enjoy the "friendly" commentary and conversation!

Thanks!

Just wanted to add that this will be my 3rd Huskie Bowl game--at least this time I shouldn't be huddling in the pouring rain!

RE: Introduce Yourself Here
Hi everyone,

I have posted a few times but thought I would introduce myself. I am a 1996 Accounting grad, married another 1996 grad (but also went to high school with her at Benet Academy in Lisle). We have 3 boys who love NIU football and live in Geneva. I usually take them to 2 games a year and then go to the November weeknight games with my buddies. I have been a fan since the LeShon Johnson years!

Go Huskies!

NIU Grad '08
My favorite memory of NIU football while I was in school was watching wolfe come in the game in the second half against Bowling Green after AJ Harris got hurt and run for 3TDs. We all got to witness the birth of an NIU legend that night at Huskie Stadium, it was a packed house and it was a blast.

Football season ticket holder, but had to give them up when I moved up north to MN. Now i'm living in Jerry Kill territory, and it's actually really cool to see how much Minneapolis loves them some Jerry Kill. Of course, when all the Minnesota fans were upset with the hire, we knew one day we could say "we told you so"

I love all NIU sports, and am Proud to be an NIU Huskie for life.
